    My 2006 GMT800 2500 Auction Find...

dvn4life1972, I am not a big fan of 2500 Subs, but the second picture, your Sub looks great! So clean, elegant, simple, black and white and I am a sucker for GMT800 bubblyness outside and pure practical utilitarianism inside! I want to see more.

    Last 2500 Suburban

dvn4life1972, I took this 2500 Sub on a washboard road for about 1 mile one time at 70psi, I still have PTSD from that 5 minute adventure. Deflated them to 35psi for the ride back and it wasn't that much better. Same washboard in my 1500 Sub with 37" tires and 17" rims, at 18psi is butter...

    Last 2500 Suburban

FishinGuns, What kind of TPMS sensors are you using? I've been running the cheapest 315 MHz eBay sensors and never ever had any trouble with them no matter if I am running 30psi or 80psi in all the tires. GM did do one thing right, it's ridiculously easy to re-program them without any dealer...

    Last 2500 Suburban

FishinGuns, Congrats on the new toy, it's a great truck and it really likes to tow. 45psi will definitely give you a relatively smooth ride, 80psi is nice for a 10,000# trailer. I think that emissions free 6.0 will definitely last you 300-400k miles, wiring and electronics in it, well, thats a...

Thinking of a locking diff for my 2wd, talk me into/out of it

I might be a little late to this thread, lol. What do you have for the rear diff in your truck now? Look in the glove box for RPO codes, G756, G80, G81, something like that. If you have a G80 then you are in luck and you just saved yourself $1,000 because you already have a locking rear end. If...

Poor mans hummer gmt800 2500 yukon xl

Panthers64, I really like the H2 rims, had a set last year on my GMT900 Sub 2500 but they were too wide for me, so I sold them. If I will ever get around to building the 2500 to be similar to my 1500 Sub, H2 brushed aluminum rims will go on.

Poor mans hummer gmt800 2500 yukon xl

Nice job finding a GMT800 2500 for a reasonable price, so many people are asking double that. H2 rims look fantastic. If you drop down below 65mph you should be able to get 600-650 miles on a tank!

2000 Suburban K1500 budget low lift with 37"s

direwolf82, Thank you, I really appreciate it. It's pretty amazing how far a stock truck will make it. Most people are just scared off by the extensive marketing gimmicks of aftermarket parts manufacturers saying that you must have this part to go on this trail, and just about everyone fall for...

2000 Suburban K1500 budget low lift with 37"s

dirtdobberoffroad, The only difference between US/world market and Mexican market 03-06 Suburban was the non cladded cateye front clip, everything else was exactly the same as US market Subs or they could probably be built to customers spec with different gearing or G80 locker.

al_burpe, HAHAHA, that looks really good actually. That is exactly what I had in mind. Now I have to really think if I want to cut the windshield out to really make it a gator or keep the cab. I like fun ideas to ponder about. Stay tuned for more shenanigans!

    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

02TahoeMD, You were one of the three most influential and inspiring builds when I started my Sub, but keeping that engine bay so clean you can eat off it tells me you need to get out more often. Keep up the great build, amazing pictures and keep on inspiring people like me. Thank you!

2000 Suburban K1500 budget low lift with 37"s

phsycle, Wow, I am so used to seeing my Sub with the Avalanche cateyes that I completely missed it in the KSL listing. BTW KSL classifieds are amazing, still buy stuff there to this day, lol. The vin doesn't tell me much, I'm sure that if anyone with carfax or autocheck can pull up where it...

Got stuck again today but doing things that a stock Liberty would not even come close to. Comparison of Liberty in 22" of fresh snow on HT stock tires in first video and then again with 33" tractor tires, 2.5" lift and locked rear diff. Stock tires, no lift, no lockers but a Trail Rated...

2000 Suburban K1500 budget low lift with 37"s

phsycle, Holly cow, 144k miles and they are asking $7,000 for it, thats absolutely insane. I would wait a couple more weeks when the gas hits $5/gal and you'll be able to pick it up at a much more reasonable $2,000 its really worth. Just to give you an idea, I paid $4,100 for mine with 108k...

2000 Suburban K1500 budget low lift with 37"s

I don't know if I should be happy or sad but my little Jeep finally made it through a 3-4ft high snow bank without getting stuck. And I started repainting it. So much for my original plan of doing a John Deere green, neon green won over. So Suburban is back to big boy yard duty! Stay...

Installation of a rear Lincoln locker. This is the least expensive initial cost locker. Lincoln locker comes from the Lincoln Electric welders used to weld the spider gears inside the carrier together in turn making the carrier a full spool or a permanent locker. My stock Chrysler 8.25" rear...

autism family travels, Believe it or not but the ole Burb IS still kicking, still my daily driver, still my weekend adventurer. The only thing I have left to finish is painting the rear quarter panels black when it warms up to match the body and might put new seat cover on drivers seat. I...

al_burpe, Haha, yo are right, both look ghetto. Hopefully at least the Jeep will be one solid color all the way around because it actually fits in my garage unlike the Suburban. Here are the two beauties side by side. Stay tuned for more shenanigans!
