Weather proof Bulkhead connector for solar panels?

Lots of good ideas so far. The marinco trolling motor connector looks sufficiently weatherproof and fairly low profile. However many of these connectors have a flaw (including the Marinco): they aren’t part of a mix & match ecosystem. Here’s the practical implication of what I am talking...

Weather proof Bulkhead connector for solar panels?

I have used Deutsche connectors for years. In fact I have all my auxiliary lights connected with them. While they are more weatherproof than Andersons (you are definitely right in that!) I still have the bulkhead/panel mount issue. I’d have to use a gland or cable clam and the the DT...

Weather proof Bulkhead connector for solar panels?

That would work; Still a bit fiddly but will work. I'll probably do something like that if I can't find my "magic wand" solution.

Weather proof Bulkhead connector for solar panels?

I just don't have a place to tie down a loose Anderson connector that would be hanging off the wires coming out of the gland. I agree that with something like a frontrunner or pioneer rack it would be a great solution, but I'm just running regular crossbars. Something like this but with an...

Weather proof Bulkhead connector for solar panels?

Saw that one with a bit of googling. Doesn't look particularly rugged. Tried to find one with a single connector, but was unable to. Glad to see I'm not the only one unable to find something like what I'm looking for! :-)

Weather proof Bulkhead connector for solar panels?

I have searched for such a thing and have not found one. Unless of course you are talking about two separate pieces, a cable clam and then an anderson connector flopping around coming off of it. Thats what I'm trying to avoid. Yea, that's my hesitation with the SAE connector - very...

Weather proof Bulkhead connector for solar panels?

I've just mounted a 100w panel to my roof rack for when I'm traveling. My plan is to attach the leads to a bulkhead connector of some sort in the fiberglass roof of my Jeep, with a connection on the other side going to a portable battery pack. I want to be able to easily plug and unplug the...

Second Row Seat Delete, Functional for Daily Duties?

My kids are grown and out of the house. That’s a big factor. My wife has a compact SUV that will seat 4. The only time we ever need a back seat is if we go out for dinner and the Jeep has never been the vehicle for that. Sometimes I go hunting with a buddy and we’ll take my Jeep together if...

"Best" fridge slide for Dometic CF50/CFX50 fridge?

I looked at that one and contacted them, but it is too narrow for the Dometic units which are "wide body" as compared to the taller ARB and Engel units.

Yea those are beautiful, but I don't need the tilt.

"Best" fridge slide for Dometic CF50/CFX50 fridge?

For posterity, I'll post what I've found so far. The ONLY fridge slide I have found that is the "Goldilocks" fit for the Dometic 50 is the DGF unit. The external dimensions are 28-1/4"L x 19-1/2"W x 2"H . Tray dimensions are 26-1/4" L x 18"W. In other words, it is a custom "no wasted...

    Fridge slide recommendation

I'm also looking for a fridge slide for a Dometic CFX50 (which is wider than the ARB). THe DFG looks good, but it appears to only lock in the closed position. Does anyone know if it locks open (extended) as well?

Anyone using the Suaoki G500 to power a fridge?

Not a solution for everyone, for sure. But so far its a very good fit for my situation, and I wanted to update the thread, since it is entitled "Anyone using the Suaoki G500 to power a fridge?".

"Best" fridge slide for Dometic CF50/CFX50 fridge?

It seems that most of the fridge slides I'm seeing are several inches wider than necessary to accommodate the 26" x 18" footprint of the CFX50. (this is including the now discontinued Dometic slide). The DFG Offroad unit looks like it might be nice, but they don't post the dimensions and its...

    Tortuga Offroad - any reviews?

I've been looking at these too. Very good pricing on eBay, and they appear to be base in So Cal. The problem is the regular one is too narrow for a Dometic CF 50 and the XL version wastes a lot of space, which is at a premium in the back of a Jeep.

Building a Plywood Deck Plate in the Back of your JKU

and regarding some of my earlier posts about how to get things to fit over the rear area and the various clearances involved, I ended up removing ALL the "stuff" (carpet, hatch cover, plastic tub) and adding layers to the rear plate to take up the space and make it sit flush. Here is a shot of...

Anyone using the Suaoki G500 to power a fridge?

I've had the Suaoki for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say that so far I am very impressed. The build quality is excellent, and has a regulated 12v output (perfect for fridges) via the cigarette lighter plug. I have not run the fridge on it yet (its in storage until next weekend) but I...
