I hope we didn't scare anyone off, I'm about as normal and boring as anyone you'd ever meet, just having a little e-fun.:o:o I've had moose and venison, but never any type of primate:hehe: Seriously though, i'd try bear if you brought some.
I think I asked for these pics awhile back, thanks:)
Hey mods, is there any chance of creating a Expo "Fabrication" section on the board? I love to see home made ********:arabia:
It'd be just like a Virginian to bring a chain to riot shotgun fight:p I would be giving up some range to you with your broadheads though, I'll have rethink this one,:p
In my first post of this thread, I said I'd try to post more to convince all I'm not a psycho:yikes: Boy, did that ever...
I'm pretty pysched myself, I just finnished reading "the Road" and "Miracle in the Andes", so we won't go hungry:p :p
Here is an excellent map of Bowden if anyone is interested

If you save it to MS Paint, then invert the colors, it's a...
When I go wheel'n with a group we always find an existing fire ring to use and end up cleaning up all the old burned beer bottles and cans. When i go out by myself, I take a metal garbage can lid. I find 3-4 rocks to prop it on, it works great for up to wrist size wood. I can put out the fire...

What's the 4x4 touring like? I was planning on bringing my full size stock pickup but I can trailor my POS jeep if there will be rough trails. Also, what's the firewood situation? I'll bring 1/2 a truckload unless you have a local source.
I'm not much of a wine connoisseur but if it's...
I like the sheet metal chop, that looks cool.:chowtime: Never realized how much was back there until I saw your pics. Are you doing a tire carrier or just a bumper? Also WD40 is a decent degreaser but make sure you wipe everything down with paint thinner or alcohol before you spray for best...
Chris said the agenda was kinda loose, I don't know if anyone would be interested in this, but I throw it out there...
Bowden Cave is about 30 miles from Thomas. It is a wild cave and is excellent for large groups and beginners/kids. It is located along old 33 in Bowden. You park and walk...
Slightly off topic, I see you are from CO, how high are the rockies? The highest I've ever camped was ~4700' on Spruce Knob WV.:) All the mountains where i normally camp are 1800-2300' tops.
I have a rickety Sunbeam grill I've been using for years but it is kind of flimsy and doesn't pack well in the jeep. I also have a couple of heavy duty steel boxes and military ammo containers sitting around. My plan is to transfer the guts of the sunbeam to one of these boxes. Ideally, I'll...
I camped with a buddy 2 weeks ago in a heavy rain/wind storm, I'm guessing 25mph winds. He had a tall external frame tent similar to the one in your link but not as large. That shape did not like the wind, we ended up with six guy lines to stabilize it. I was in a goofy Coleman 2 pole dome...
If you take the plastic frame cover off (4 screws) you can wrap a tow strap around the front crossmember and bumper. It is pretty bombproof and a good option if there are no tow points.
Thanks for the links guys. I tried the yahoo board and agree, it is very frustrating. Jkam, you have what I'm after. From your pics it looks like your out west somewhere. I'm in central PA. I'm basically looking for one that is done for ~$5000.
The first one I found needed too much work...
