Got the Montero bug need help

Find a 01 3.5XS: coils, safer, light, simple t-case/4wd. The 3.5 with the 4.90s in these Sports is lively and it's nice to have the power on the highway. or a 99 limited with the 3.5 and locker (rare).

    "Budget" Vehicles for DD/OL/Expo

It's hard to beat the 3.5 Sports for cost/capability....really stout, safe, reliable, capable enough, quiet, comfortable, plenty of cargo etc. I also just pulled a real world accurately measured 20mpg loaded on a 1500mi trip on 32s. Without 70mph speed limits it would have done even better...

I didn't see that you are going with 255. I'll be curious how you like them and how they fit. I almost went that route but decided to go light weight and it hasn't limited where I can go yet. Will a 33 fit in the stock spare spot?

I originally wanted those factory compartments but now I'm glad to not have them. This is what I came up with: With the 3.0 I would stick with the 265/75r16 personally.

    Toyota Chinook 1981

Shipping looks to be a bit over 1k to TN. I'll keep waiting for a local one for the time being but I'll keep it in mind if nothing pops up and I can no longer fight the itch.

    Thinking about new Subaru Outback...

Might check out the Outlander GT. Quite similar to the Outback but it can be had right now for around 21k with rebates with the V6, heated leather, rockford audio, awesome AWD system etc. Ditch the 3rd row and there's tons of room. Regardless of what you by use Cars.com and Cargurus.com for...

    Toyota Chinook 1981

How's the condition of the canvas? Top in general? Any rust? Was this originally built on the 1981 or has the shell been swapped onto the 81? Thanks
