04 DII in Disney movie African Cats

Went and saw "Rango" last night (awesome.) They had a preview for a Disney documentary called "African Cats" -- the first shot shows a nicely built and loaded-with-camera-equipment '04 DII out on the savanna. Might have to see it just for this reason. :sombrero:

    German 98 Blazer build

This may be irrelevant advice, as I don't know the first thing about Blazers, but on the two older trucks I've owned that had tach trouble the line had unseated from where it connected into the differential. The knurled end had broken off.

    Strange headlight gremlin...

Interesting. Pull it out? Am I looking for a fried wire or something? Bad connection?

    Strange headlight gremlin...

Thanks for the info dude. Man, I can barely wrap my head around internal combustion... and now this truck demands electrical proficiency from me? It is being very optimistic. :victory:

Anyone know of a mint '95 RR Classic LWB out there?

Keep an eye on BringATrailer.com as well

    Strange headlight gremlin...

A-ha. Did you find the short in an individual headlight wire? Or further up the chain? The issue I think I'll have troubleshooting is the clean-but-different wiring of my 6.2 conversion.

    Strange headlight gremlin...

So now, suddenly, both my headlights are incredibly dim -- not even enough power to cast a beam. Both batteries are fine. Two bulbs dying at the *exact* same time? Possible, I guess... but really? The strangest part is that now my High Beam indicator light is permanently on. The headlights...

    Discovery interior sleeping...

For a few days in college, between apartments, I stuffed a twin-sized futon mattress in the back of my '96 D1. With the seats all the way forward, as mentioned, and the rear sets folded as flat as possible it fit very, very well and I was able to sleep in total comfort (i.e. stretched out...

a few questions about an east coast Defender

Rovers Out East always has a cool rotating stock... he doesn't seem to deal with the cherry restos as much so his prices are always very reasonable. I talked to him about a few trucks on a couple different occasions and would have no hesitations dealing with him. Check d-90.com for some...

Rovers on the Rocks Video part 1

Yeah, who are these people that have time to constantly remove/install roof-racks, jerry-can holders, and the myriad other kid one generally needs for even a weekend of travel? Am I a poser for leaving my Warn bolted to the bumper even if I don't use it for weeks at a time? :sombrero:

Rovers on the Rocks Video part 1

I mean, yeah, probably not -- but like I said earlier, if looking cool was 0% of the equation, we wouldn't be in Rovers. :sombrero: Expo'd out, maybe, but you have to admit that's a ************ looking rig. And maybe he wanted to see how far he could take it with full kit? He probably has a pretty...

Rovers on the Rocks Video part 1

That's the one. With a small kid in the car too. :yikes: :yikes: It's always fun coming through the other side safe, though. :smiley_drive:

Rovers on the Rocks Video part 1

His last right-hand turn down before the finish looked pretty damn precarious too -- if he hadn't spun the wheels to the right just when he did, I beti that truck would've gone over on the passenger side. Lot of weight up top, too. :Wow1:

    My new-to-me 6.2L Disco

Combined 19.5 mpg over the last 1300 miles or so. That's without any adjustment of driving style -- I'm on the gas pretty good most of the time. I'm way on the low end of mpgs for this motor, apparently. Been talking to the maintenance guys over at our Echo company (ground maint.) and they...

    My new-to-me 6.2L Disco

High teens, low 20s. First maintenance issue has come up -- the alternator has developed a nasty squeak. I'm probably going to replace it with a mean green high-amp.
