Went and saw "Rango" last night (awesome.) They had a preview for a Disney documentary called "African Cats" -- the first shot shows a nicely built and loaded-with-camera-equipment '04 DII out on the savanna. Might have to see it just for this reason. :sombrero:

This may be irrelevant advice, as I don't know the first thing about Blazers, but on the two older trucks I've owned that had tach trouble the line had unseated from where it connected into the differential. The knurled end had broken off.

A-ha. Did you find the short in an individual headlight wire? Or further up the chain? The issue I think I'll have troubleshooting is the clean-but-different wiring of my 6.2 conversion.

So now, suddenly, both my headlights are incredibly dim -- not even enough power to cast a beam. Both batteries are fine. Two bulbs dying at the *exact* same time? Possible, I guess... but really? The strangest part is that now my High Beam indicator light is permanently on. The headlights...

His last right-hand turn down before the finish looked pretty damn precarious too -- if he hadn't spun the wheels to the right just when he did, I beti that truck would've gone over on the passenger side. Lot of weight up top, too. :Wow1:

Combined 19.5 mpg over the last 1300 miles or so. That's without any adjustment of driving style -- I'm on the gas pretty good most of the time. I'm way on the low end of mpgs for this motor, apparently. Been talking to the maintenance guys over at our Echo company (ground maint.) and they...

High teens, low 20s. First maintenance issue has come up -- the alternator has developed a nasty squeak. I'm probably going to replace it with a mean green high-amp.
