My built from scratch brutally strong camper shell

What radius were you pulling? I've never had my JD2 kink anything at any radius I've tried.

POD: Homebuilt foam core fiberglass skin pop-up camper build thread

Looking good Pods8, I'm in Broomfield and work in Boulder if you ever need another set of hands. I built a camping trailer and know how handy it is to have someone else look things over sometimes or give some insights. If you ever get in a punch give me a holler.

GoLite Prototype 2 man ultralight tent

I'm unsure, I'm guessing it is a Wolf Creek model prototype, no telling if the Rain fly would fit. Sorry bud, I can't be sure

    Hello, meet Elsie.

Love that green! My dream is a pig with late model running gear/chassis as a family wheeler. The blue one is nice!

Rock crawling in the LX last month

Not sure if the Atrac thingy would work with you applying a power brake technique but it looks like it would have served you well. Good on you for taking the family out in the woods. I'd move sliders to the top of your list if you are gonna play in that stuff. You can beat up the bumpers all...

    Hello, meet Elsie.

Great post, I dig your 40 a lot. It looks great in green, and I can feel your pain. I have driven my 40 daily for lever 14 years... it's become an extension of me and a part of our family. Storage and milege are two things that every 40 owner needs to "make peace with." They'll never be great...

    Small Garage, Big Project

Wow, this is a great build. I hope your enjoying it! You incorporated a lot of design features I wish I would have added. What are the main things you haul in it? Camping gear? That tent must take up a good amount of space but man, it's like a castle. Anyhow great build up man, you built one of...

    Telescoping stabilizer legs

Chris, so you have a receiver on the trailers rear bumper? Making a "kickstand" or inserting a trailer jack would've an easy solution if you can avoid any tailgate opening issues. Come on over and I am sure we could whip something up.

What is necessary for overland travel?

Drive the wheels off it man. Get a strap, shovel and hilift... a good map, join a TLCA chapter and learn to drive offroad. Build it down the road once you know what you need. In reality I'd buy a built rig as it usually can save you thousands!
