2017 Tacoma DCLB Off Road 4x4, Treehouse poptop camper, ready to go camping $43k

Do you sleep head into the wedge or feet into the it? We tried both and actually like our head into the wedge. It makes it easy to climb in and out without spinning around and I have never banged my head on the roof.

So true, especially about hiring locals, that is the best "recovery" gear you could get...."many hands make light work" as the saying goes

2017 Tacoma DCLB Off Road 4x4, Treehouse poptop camper, ready to go camping $43k

Most important info....I am only selling this setup because I had a chance to build a Transit poptop 4wd SEMA project. Nothing wrong with the Taco/Treehouse combo, just don't need 2 killer rigs in the driveway. Kelly Blue Book puts the truck alone at $30k without all the upgrades it got...even...

Dirt Sunrise: Tim and Kelsey get lost...

Goose is part of you, don't sell unless you absolutely have to or you change the type of travel where you are doing less off highway. Part of what makes your trip so interesting is that you guys always seek the lesser path, the places the other folks don't go.

    Moab...In a big truck...

Since you have an AEV I would absolutely call them, great folks and they know/test their rigs in Moab often. I did Fins in a full size E350 extended body Sportsmobile and other than a bit of hitch dragging it was fine. Desert pinstripping is part of the game in the southwest, on the other hand...

Looking for suggestions for 270 awning. Bunduawn?

I have the 2 side by side in my driveway and this weekend I will try to get a pic of the rear arm of the 23Zero which has a much better design. Also the rear arm has an additional bit of fabric that covers the little gap between the arm and the back of a vehicle. I tuck it under my roof rack so...

Expedition Portal Joins Sema build with @weldtecdesigns

I am not against it at all as a concept... But on my Transit I have the Owl Vans tire carrier which hangs on the hinges and my tire/wheel is the max weight I want to think about. However down the road if I was to get a swingout bumper setup then the Titan makes much more sense for MY use...that...

    Garmin Overlander

All this is great.....unless you need to transfer the data when OUT of cellular/wifi range. Why these folks can't make it easy to swap data at a campsite with someone else is beyond me.

Looking for suggestions for 270 awning. Bunduawn?

Call up Justin at 23Zero, the new 270 Peregrine awning is 50lbs and the light blocking fabric is pretty cool. I just put one on my Transit and have a Darche 270 on my Tacoma so I can compare. The new 23Zero fixes the issues with the Darche like small bag, rear hinge design and some other goodies...

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7599785/Fascinating-1930s-holiday-photos-document-wealthy-couples-epic-road-trip-Dover-Sahara.html The story is cool but the pics are a blast to look at. And to imagine life back then both for the traveler and those who had never seen anything like this...

    4x4 Ford Transit conversion

I just had my Transit converted by Quadvan and they will do used. Quigley will do used Transits for now as they are waiting for the 2020 to come out. Personally I went with Quadvan as John ask questions about my use, has a great rear shock clearance kit, regeared by axles no problem and a...

https://www.harborfreight.com/two-tier-step-ladder-chair-67514.html $30 and then 20% off coupon, I like this one as it is wide enough with the curve to act as a seat for an extra person or if I want a quick sit

Road trip building a van for SEMA 2019

No worries Todd, it is more about getting attention for the partner companies than me. I actually would like to see it featured on Sportsmobile's website as an example of how you can bring them a van for partial work vs a full build. Last thing I want is someone coming to me to build a Transit :)

How does everyone finance a used adventure van

Yep, get the currently owner to title as RV, then loan process is much easier. Otherwise you will only get a loan for the basic rig and have to do something else for the difference.
