Ski Bum Truck V2.0, F450 Rough Road RV

man that second photo looks icy, and off camber... pucker up. are you using a fuel additive for winter anti-gelling? mine has been like this the last couple years too actually - seems odd. wondering either its that, or just something up with our fuel these days. I dont ever remember...

https://www.unboundfreedom.com/ Not a camper, but another direction - same company. Although your stuck with a new vehicle, that's probably very expensive.

    hydronic heat - gasoline version

Anyone use the gas version of the coolant heaters from wabesto (or others)? Considering putting one in my Jeep. I know many use them for full size in the diesel version, but curious if anyone has experience with the gas versions. Looking for ideas to help heat up the Jeep in the winter cold...

Tracker vs Sidekick vs Samurai TOAD......

Might want to give them a ring. I think your pretty close to my area, worth checking out. I'm curious...why do you dislike the TJ idea? what's the bad experience you had?

Tracker vs Sidekick vs Samurai TOAD......

Theres always something like this.... Not my cup of tea, and probably not yours. But, thinking outside the box here. https://missoula.craigslist.org/cto/d/missoula-chevy-tracker-4x4-hunting-rig/7200957511.html

Tracker vs Sidekick vs Samurai TOAD......

I think a TJ is a great option. My '06 is a GVWR of just under 4500. Curb weight I bet would be right around your max. Maybe a tad higher than your 3K limit, but I sure do like my TJ. It's simple, all the comforts one 'needs', and for me has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned -...

    Scout Olympic vs Kenai

I think it would depend if the system you want would be able to have incorporated a direct vent (exhaust). I dont think (personally) it would be a good idea to have combustion hapening inside without a direct vent (yes I know that goes against cooking). Many seem to be ok with catalytic...

    Scout Olympic vs Kenai

nbot quite sure what your asking here. but the Kenai has a shower option. I think its an electric hot water heater although I'm sure you could plumb exhaust for a instant hot water heater if that's what you prefer.

    Total Composites flatbed build

Well I think during the discussion of your bed mounting there are a variety of valid points being made. Even though the springs you are using may be designed to handle the full load of the bed (a water tank), it still might be a good idea to have stabilizing plates. Or possibly even do a...

    6.8 Triton experiences

Hey all thanks for your input! For a moment I was exploring some life options and had come across a Glacier series Chinook (2004), with V10 but, after thinking more, am thinking that's not the right route for me - right now anyway. It might make someone else happy though, so here is a link...

    Total Composites flatbed build

Following. I'd like to see where the OP takes this as I am considering something similar. I'm also curious to see this camper your building! I think this is one thing that many don't realize and you pointed it out well. There are the very select few with millions who can buy or build...

Total Composites Slide In Camper Kits

I second this. Personally I really don't understand the desire for a short bed camper. But the idea here is pretty awesome - seems like a really good product, with a 'you assemble' option helping to reduce costs for those who want to make their own interior.

    Scout Olympic vs Kenai

I just checked the scout out this morning (online) again after someone referred me to them a few weeks back. At first, a few weeks ago, I was skeptical. Originally was dead set on a pop up (alaskan) style, to still allow for camping in bear country, while keeping a low profile. But weights...

1-ton trucks, what tires do you have?

Sounds like you already have a plan. For what it's worth, on my OBS F350 7.3 I'm running 515/75/R16 (35x12.5 on 16's) duratracs with 16" alum rims. So far they're perfect. Stickers of course say 60 psi up front and 80 out back. I have them all set to 57. Front axle weight (weighed) is 4240...

    7.3 question

I 100% respectfully disagree. So there is a very real difference between book values and market. I suppose if you mean book values in discussing what historical records are then yes, that makes sense, but if you suggest using book values to set the price of something a person wants to sell as...

    7.3 question

There are differences in opinions clearly in what vehicles should sell for. Though understandable that an old truck should not be worth over 10K, consider the fact that older trucks become more rare in good condition, therefore it does actually increase value. Like the old supply and demand...
