    Weight

To the OP, You already are miles ahead of the average truck owner. You did some reading and you weighed your truck and gear Knowing what you do now, just pack as light as possible, and drive sane. Keep up on maintenance, and when the time and budget allow, step up to a truck that can handle it...

The full sized mid-size, my 2014 F150 "Fiddy"

That's pretty amazing TBH And we have several whiskies for the week so I'll sneak a few shots of those in there. I've been trying bourbon now!

Half ton of fun. Overlanding build starting for '04 F150

I'm running 34x10.5R17 on stock 3.73 gears with a six speed and regret not re gearing. I also don't have Raptor HP nor 5.4 Mod torque.

And when I say we bring too much stuff camping, I'm not exaggerating.

Trucks always look better to me with kayaks or canoes on the roof.

Rear Bumper w/ Swingout Tire Carrier for F150... Why doesn't this exist!?!?

A Fiddy is angular enough a nice square-ish tube bumper at the back wouldn't look too out of place. Especially when disguised with a large AT/MT tire

When the OEM tire was a 31.8 ,x 10.5 P rated POS moving to a 33x12.5 C or E is noticable rolling mass.

Anyone tried a set of Cooper Evolution MT's ?

A true 33, and not overly wide. If I wasn't so cheap I'd have considered that size, but already had 17s. Pics when you are done!

    Ranger - pros/cons considering maintenance/reliability

It strikes me as the one vehicle is trying to wear too many hats I gave up a long time ago and accepted the fact I need more than one vehicle. It took 4 years and lots of hard work to get from 1 to 2 vehicles, but having one dedicated to work makes life much easier, especially when you spend...

    Ranger - pros/cons considering maintenance/reliability

I'm still curious what career requires 2-3k miles a month and a 3k payload.

    2022 Nissan Frontier unveiled

Nissan didn't do themselves any favors leaving the frontier to wither on the vine as long as they did. I didn't mind the Titan but was too expensive and no extended cabs. I'm one of the few guys who doesn't want a crew cab I guess. At least the new Rogue looks great. I actually enjoyed driving...

Wow that's aggressive. What size are you going with?

    2022 Nissan Frontier unveiled

Anything without a long travel suspension isn't a proper car for our typical highways lol. If sky is your thing we have that in spades. Unfortunately we are last in line to get anything. If it's released in the US, it takes a while to become available in Canada, and it will be in Ontario and...

Yeah I avoid wide tires like the plague, but no beaches here. If the OEM tire was anything like the Hankook on my truck, I've had wrapping paper that's more durable. 4.10 seems about right for a really wide 33 on that truck. I was going to regear my six speed then didn't and I regret it now.

That first gear and reverse are awesome. Good reduction on the transfer case as well. In two years when these finally hit central Canada I'll have to take a look. Probably a 60k Canadian truck tho.

    BFG's on WK2

If you have the HD brakes most 17s don't fit. However many people have had luck with wheel spacers. Somehow the 17s we ordered for my wife's winter tires clear the rear rotors and we have the HD brakes as far as I can discern. (2019 WK2 Altitude with tow package)

10th Generation F-150 Overland build (The Craptor)

The F150 crew gets larger by the month. I love it.

Those are still the 4 speed auto, correct? I'd still choose 4.10 for a wide heavy 33. You are also adding a bunch of weight regardless with the cap and house batteries etc. Wasn't stock tire like 265/70?

Rear Bumper w/ Swingout Tire Carrier for F150... Why doesn't this exist!?!?

Booyeah! I wish I had money and room for a reg cab Short box. Also note that aftermarket hitches may effect the fitment of the spare. I have an aftermarket hitch and that's my closest spot. Right now the 34x10.5R17 at 45 psi fits, a size bigger would be tight. OEM hitch and I'd have more room I...
