ARB Fridge & Draft Beer Off The Grid?

Wow, I don't drink beer, but if I did that would be the most nifty way to to do so... I am impressed by anyone who would dedicate a new fridge for beer, plus the stainless work, plus the paintball CO2, and planning, and welding and it just goes on and on... Very cool and I really hope it works...

2005 Silverado 6.0L, heading to Argentina.

I would not worry about extra fuel tanks....There is gas everywhere other than the Altaplano or somewhere crazy like that...and honestly you can plan for everything else. You will have more issues with tight roads, potholes and overhead height than anything else. Keep it simple and spend less...

rent a car for any client meeting... Honestly someone like Enterprise will bring the car to your office and since it is work related you can write it off on taxes. Makes it cheap and easy.

Great writeup and I like the pics... Big thanks for clearing the trail, makes a huge difference for the soft roader folks that come along, not to mention our land manager folks find it easier to close than repair a trail.

Sonora Rally (formerly known as the Cortez Rally)

I really want to register in Safari but I am also chasing shortly after this for the Mexican 1000. So that gives me 2 concerns... The Cost...steep but there are not many real Dakar style event you can do in North America with a non-race rig. The Risk...for me to break something right before I am...

Sonora Rally (formerly known as the Cortez Rally)

Yeah I gathered the the date seperation might mean something....not sure if it was just to try and NOT jam 2 events close together or if the folks involved are not working together anymore. Either way...I know I am going to enjoy helping you guys Todd with the Bronco, but also always looking...

Sonora Rally (formerly known as the Cortez Rally)

Yeah that is why I didn't enter last year....and the timeframe of right against the start of the Mex 1K My hope was that since it is a stand alone event there might be some sort of stock class that would let me NOT have a roll cage. Shame as more folks would enter stuff like this if they didn't...

Sonora Rally (formerly known as the Cortez Rally)

I posted on Race Dezert to ask if I HAD to have a roll cage in my 70 Burb. I have been chasing for the Mexican 1000 for a few years, have a very well build rig, love navigation stuff but just don't want to install a roll cage in my daily driver/travel rig. Otherwise if I can't compete I might...

Advice on solar fridge system for everyday use.

The flexible panels are more efficient in poor lighting and hot air temps than the glass panels. On the laptop inverter look for a travel setup that only goes from 12v to 15-19v instead 120v, that will save your battery also. I love my I-GO but there are plenty of brands. Remember that your goal...

Sometimes, It’s Best To Relinquish Control — A Newbie’s Backcountry Adventure Report

Really great write up and pics... I like the pacing of the story, the self reflection and best of all we got to hear from the "other fellow" who was along. Many of my best memories are of when things went pear shaped, I didn't enjoy it at the time but learned plenty. Thanks for putting it all...
