Expedition overland article on not getting "Jeeping"

I really wish the article had not used the "Jeeper" term but instead more clearly outlined how the author did not enjoy technical rock crawling (I don't either) and instead prefered "overlanding". Trash is everywhere in the southwest, from asphalt to rock gardens. But we should do our best to...

A Maze, Poisoned Spring, and a Black Dragon

Great write up and thanks for taking us along. Very nice pics and very cool to read about the trail repairs that were pretty lucky to go as well as they did.

    Iridium GO! is finally released

There is an old anology that is used in racing and everywhere else I bet.... You can chose any 2 of the three items below....but ONLY 2 Fast Cheap High Quality If you want fast, high quality comm that works anywhere it won't be cheap. If you want cheap, fast comm...it might not be high...

    70 C-20 4x4 Suburban Father/Son project

My wife will get a kick out of helping me put the numbers in print....I might not though. Some things to note... I spend ALOT on custom suspension since I am very picky...just enough lift to keep it easy to get in but plenty of quality to handle Baja washboard. I am paying Nick for his...

    70 C-20 4x4 Suburban Father/Son project

I drive like Granny going to church with the Pastor in the front seats and he puppy's in the back. Slow and steady to see all the sights. I hope for 15mpg but with 4.10's, 33's and the 700r4 I have no idea....but no matter what I will be happy with the fuel injection vs carb

    70 C-20 4x4 Suburban Father/Son project

I thought I would be interesting to lay out overall what has been done since I got this Burb and what is left to do on the plan... Bought it a couple of years ago on the day after Thanksgiving...my kind of black Friday :) It had a pretty fresh GM big cam crate motor so that we have basically...

    70 C-20 4x4 Suburban Father/Son project

Nick deserved all the kudos...I am around more for comic relief than anything else. He won't know what to do with himself once his driveway is free of blue vehicles. Between my blue 72 C-10 and the Burb he has gotten a little twitchy about that color :) I hope the center console turns out well...

    70 C-20 4x4 Suburban Father/Son project

This gives a better idea of all the subtle stuff that was built...dual battery trays, with a solar controller on the aux side. AC setup with in dash and rear evap's and plenty more I can't think of but will make a big difference in the long run. Lots of good quality OEM GM parts means I will...

    70 C-20 4x4 Suburban Father/Son project

Part of the conversion to fuel injection was a new tank...well new old tank. This is a 40 gal out of an 87 Burb with the inlet welded in the right spot. New sender and pump installed and we were ready to trail a long way down the trail. Oh and in case anyone was wondering about those long...

    70 C-20 4x4 Suburban Father/Son project

So there are many elements of this build that involved me telling Nick "good enough" and him having to grumble something along the lines of "it's not my truck" Not that I don't think everything he has done has been beyond what I would do....it just isn't all up to HIS norms :) I will say I am...

    70 C-20 4x4 Suburban Father/Son project

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics So the day before my rig was supposed to go to Nicks for all this work my younger son drove it to school....and got it towed. $200 later and a ton of rushing around and we get it out of the yard...good lesson for him and not too big a hit to his savings...

    70 C-20 4x4 Suburban Father/Son project

Big Blue Burb has been hanging out at Nick-mosesburb's house for a couple months. One of those "out of sight, out of mind" things for me...for Nick more of a stray animal you can't get to stop coming by :) But last night was a big milestone in that we drove it around a bit and I was IMPRESSED...

AND YET AGAIN: Paul and Mike Try to Build a Hard-Sided Do-It-All ADV Trailer

Dude I just want to buy the model trailer and wooden fellow to play with when I can't hit the dirt for real... Amazing how clear a design becomes when a scale model is used....just too neat to watch the thought process in action. Huge thanks even if I never own a trailer, learning from great...

    Long Ride on a 1982 Honda XL500R

Top notch write up and thank you so much for the honesty in your writing. Too often the mega media trips come off as all is perfect and well....and they have to with sponsors and all. It is your kind of report that is the best, simple truth with great writing and pics.

Great write up of a 1975 Baja Trip

My younger son and I just did 1000 miles in 3 days in Baja Norte and it is amazing how nice the roads are getting, just since last year they have made things nice, smooth.....and a bit boring honestly :) Promise I will post up a report soon. But back on the thread...I really like these views...

Great write up of a 1975 Baja Trip

So I was doing a little research for a moto trip through Baja Norte when I found this website. Really great read and I can't wait to look around and what else he has done. http://www.edwardfrey.com/cartrips/trip1.html
