So per a suggestion by another member it seems like a good idea to start a thread on Adv moto first aid gear. Since my younger son is now taking solo moto trips this is actually something we have been putting together for him.
I will start off the talk lightly then delve in later with more...
Brian DeArmon who is one of the original Expo members, moderator and all around great guy just started up a table company
Jonathan Hanson of Overland Expo fame mentioned them in the Overland Tech & Travel newsletter which led me to drive down to Tucson and buy the prep table.
It is an amazingly...
For San Felipe my best luck has been with the Pemex as you are coming into town from the North. They seem to do the most business so I figure the fuel gets turned over enough.
The 2 on the round about seem to deal with locals and don't sell as much diesel and not as much volume.
I have a Hannibal with zip on walls and I love it...
Best used for lunch stops or with rain/drizzle...not much rain in Arizona but happens.
We love ours and will never have a rig without some sort of awning.
Wow great pics and write up.
Looks like an amazing time...
Any chance you have gps tracks for your trip as I have been looking to spend more time in New Mex since Az is right next door.
Thanks for posting and taking us along.
I guess I should clarify that as an ICU & Recovery Room RN I code people often, shocking them and then knowing what to do after is a common thing for me.
That said, I would still recommend one if a person either has a cardiac history or travels with someone who does. There is nothing else that...
I have been watching the refurbs on ebay and some medical supply sites for a while. Good units are still over $500...but my son's Scout Troop is about convinced to get one due to all the older guys (and heavy guys) who come along on hikes and campouts.
Someday I will have one in my rig, just...
Another intesting resource is the Perlinger Archives which are all the old cool black & white films we used to see

Might just be a visual thing but it looks to hang pretty low...not talking about your original hitch but just the bumper design with the lights/items below the plate.
Now if you don't have much rear overhang it might not be an issue but I like to tuck things up as much as possible.
My local Toyota dealer here in Phx Camelback Toyota did a great job of getting me tons of parts when I had my Troopy,
I used the EPC disk to figure out the part number (which is often something the local NAPA has since Toyota cross used many parts) and they ordered it up often from out of the...
A multi-day setup is all about camping comfort...
Water enough to cover each person for a couple of days if you have the ability to refill along the way
Food enough as above
A way to wash up even if it is just heating water in a pan and wiping down with washcloths...or babywipes
Camping gear of...
Excellent write up and this why I keep telling people to get down and enjoy Baja NOW...every year there is more asphalt and will be more idiots from North of the Border so enjoy as much as we can while we can.
Glad the people were as good to you as they always are for us...agreed on the amazing...
Long term feedback...
I have had mine for a while now and move it between my son's motos when they go on weekend rides, my wife's SUV and my rig when going into the wild.
Used it over and over, from jump starting to the boys charging cell phones. Love it and will buy another to cut down on...
Thanks for the comments guys...
All the kudos go to Nick-NOIBN for all the hard work....I am the walking wallet/comic relief/sidekick who actually owns the rig :)
Basically if you look around the thing and say "oh that is nice" Nick did it
If you tilt your head to the side and say "what the F"...
Since the rig ran so well on its first outing we figured we ought to head out of town and play a bit for Black Friday and the Saturday after...beats the crowds any day.
Some strange white mineral deposit from something marked on an old map as a "deep well", the families had fun climbing all...
And this was the cool stuff worth seeing...some really neat mining operations from back in the day. These guys knew how to pick a spot to setup.
Local stone and much muscle went into putting this place together. Impressive.
Iron rods through the walls with cool nuts on the ends to hold the...
Getting a little more interesting with some rocks, gravel and twisty areas of the trail.
Watch the speed around corners as you never know what you might bonk into.
Or what interesting things might be written on the rocks...nothing ancient here, just a friendly comment about current mine...
As is my norm I can't wait for a project to be "finished" before getting in the dirt...mainly because I never believe they are ever finished and because there are just many cool places to go to wait too long..
And it has been a long long couple months to have my burb down...but well worth it...
