Even though I am not currently biking I like this story from the gear perspective.
Not ultra-light as when I used to backpack, and not as heavy as my current 4wd setup.
Nice balance of comfort, quality and wieght.
thanks and looking forward to more.
Oh that is very very nice looking with the canopy on back.
You guys will be having a bunch of family fun and I bet the girls won't mind being dropped off to school in that ride :)
Glad to see the build going but I forgot what the prices are like for you folks, ouch. No wonder she will be a slow...
I love the old iron and great to see how creative the previous owner was on that dash and side panel, amazing
I like your modern powerplant, what did you do for a/c and such?
I have had great luck with my Acer Netbook, run Delorme Topo and OziExplorer (with free USGS maps)
Use Franson GpsGate to split the signal from a Globalsat BT353 (I think that is the number) USB GPS Puck
Never had any issues with the hard drive but some folks swap out to a solid state setup...
really great quality pics and thanks for scanning the slides so we can share them
I love that you did it in a rental car, even if I would also have been looking at you thinking "crazy people" at that time :)
looking forward to hearing more about your travels, thanks again
My wife and I just got back from another camping trip where we slept inside my 70 Suburban.
There is a thead on Expo about rear platforms that show how you can have storage and a nice place to sleep.
The Exped Mega Mat 10 is a dream to sleep on...amazing.

Wow those are amazing articulation and manuvering shots....Kimberly really needs to use those in some adverts
Glad to see you getting your money worth out of the trailer.
I thought the production quality was even better than the high quality stuff from before....
The giggle I got was from the Drama Queen comment in the opening credits about "one of the most feared places to travel....Central America" or something like that....
Baaaaahhhaaaaa
Really? Costa Rica...
I did everything I posted to every bit of metal I could get to...
Firewall, reached up and even did underside of metal dash
Inside my doors
Metal roof....I still have the bubble wrap shinny stuff showing on my roof as it reflects light so well at night when camping :) And I am too lazy or...
Lizard Skin is way too much money and this is pretty much the same stuff and it worked great on 2 projects for me....way cheaper also

I have a 70 Burb and I also did up a Landcruiser Troopy with the same process...
1) Strip the interior and clean, clean...
very cool water fall and I dig the old cabins and ranch areas....
not to mention the longhorn is way cool
looks like your dog is primed and ready for adventure
Seems like something we as overlanders could easily do.
Plenty of space to carry water samples as we travel and easy to take the time to catalog everything.
Not that we cross much water here in the desert southwest but will look into the signup process
As always a really great write up
your pics and stories are what pull me back to Utah.
Thanks for taking the time to put all this together so we can join your adventure :)
