Anyone here using an XP Campers tray/flatbed?

Ahh ok this makes a lot more sense to me now. I must have missed something earlier in the thread. Also thinking I was in the 'camper' section didn't help haha. Sounds like a pretty sweet idea for a set-up. I think I saw a picture a long time ago of something kinda similar, though not with the...

Anyone here using an XP Campers tray/flatbed?

Not to hijack or start a argument (for lack of better wording), but although these are all really nice options but I must say I'm baffled that nobody has done similar work only with a utility bed style. I understand they need to be modified to fit a camper, but if you're already doing a custom...

    Spare tire?

Since I carry 2 spares, 35"ers, and plan to do a 45 gal rear tank, I will have to do a carrier. Plan to have one from buckstop bumpers. They do have an option for a tire carrier, and I have talked them into doing 2, one on each side. Obviously it will make getting into the back (or a future...

It could be just some residual moisture from your last trip and wet clothes in the rig. You have the pass through open all the time right? Any moisture in the camper portion? I would also check where any wires you had put through the firewall (if any) to make sure its sealed up nice as well...

    OBS F250/F350 Flatbed camper build

Nice work you've done so far! How would you go about even figuring that out? I always figured there was a spring specific to the bed mounts. Is this not the case? I'm curious, are you spring mounting all 4 corners, or just a pair?

New Alaskan side entry flatbed 8.5' build!!

No toilet?? Interesting choice. But that's great to know they were willing to consider options and have an open discussion. Their build quality is very nice, and much more of a 'warm' feeling. Something I may be considering. Assuming the camper is a 10' version, how does it hold up to the...

I think the SAE is a good thing to point out in that if one plans to use them on the road, especially in Washington. Fortunately, I will be moving to an area that actually allows use of legit off road lights on highways considering a few provisions. Do you plan to add any additional lighting...

How was it going through the customizing process as a whole?

Well this is way cool. I've been wanting to get some RIGID lights for a while, but was just skeptical of the whole LED deal (until my truck headlights). But a local shop told me they have a lot of warranty claims and don't hold up well, and so he referred me to VisionX lights, but they don't...

Ski Bum Truck V2.0, F450 Rough Road RV

I think Washington legally only allows something like 4 'off road' or 'aux' lights above normal headlight level, and do require covers. I remember looking that up something like 10 years ago though. But who's going to really pull you over unless your trying to blind people. Although theres so...

Ski Bum Truck V2.0, F450 Rough Road RV

Yeah that's true. That is one big problem with LED lights that I don't think many understand. I'm taking a chance with mine so we'll see how they work here in the winter. But it sure feels good to have a lower electrical draw! I wonder if all the Rigid lights get warm enough to melt...

Wow....that's pretty darn bright for just the fog's! It looks like theyre only 4 LED's per housing too. Man I'm surprised! Looks great though. Heres what I put in my headlights before the summer. They were an amazing night and day difference. Technically I think they're not legal due to...

Oh man this looks like an awesome trip!! What highway was it off of? I've been wanting to do a test run of my new tires and TT's.... Any 'drivers view' of the new lights?

Have you considered a 6 rather than the 5? A little more work. But I think well worth it.

That's not a bad change. I certainly had a change with my set-up as well. A little bit of tire makes a big difference. Keep an eye on those EGT's if you ever get east of Washington. I noticed higher elevations really pushed it.

Don't you have other things planned for your rear bumper also? Maybe consider mounting a cheapers truck bed lift from harbor freight to aid in spare removal/mounting and other things as well. Not sure how I like this idea, probably something better out there, but gets the gears turning on...

Is the capacity conducive for just running single??? I would be a little concerned about that bit... I had to search quite a bit to find the right tire/wheel combination for my own application to be within factory 'max' rated specs.

Oh no hey Mota, just not realized I never responded to your question. Man sorry about that.... I've had a ton of different thoughts over the last, well almost year since the post haha. Needles to say I haven't figured it out yet... theres a ton of options. Hows your progress coming along...
