The 4 unit allows you to store the 660 legs inside the frame, not so on the 3 unit. This makes for a thinner profile when packing. I had a 3 unit and switched to the 4 unit for this reason as well as having the extra space with the 4 unit.
The only plus I can see with the 3 unit is depending...
You should be able to just lift it off. At least this is how mine was on my 2013. Scroll down to page 11 below.

Have you thought about replacing the front Jeep Logo to match the new black side ones. Jeep looks good.
Side note on the external speaker. I stashed mine(2m) right about the drivers left ear. Peel back the roll bar padding in the corner. You can cut the foam easily and just slip a speaker...
Nice Jeep. A couple of suggestions. Go find a vehicle scale and weight the Jeep as it sits now with a full tank of gas. This will be a good baseline for adding mods later. Weight is a killer to fuel economy. Thinking about it now will save you from replacing heavy aftermarket parts later...
You might try and look at it from a different angle. Instead of trying to replace what seems like a majority of your gear, why not concentrate on one or two things in particular. For instance I have a ton of gear, but when I camp I find that I am very lazy and most products don't even make it...
I have a like new set of 4 Staun's deflators and a set of 4 Oasis red deflators. Let me know if you are interested in one of these and I will pull them out of the Jeep and take a photograph. Not sure on the price depends on which one.
