Another night ride with my neighbor Chris. We tackled Mt. Whitney tonight. Great weather and cool views.

Sorry for the late response. Yes those are the factory shifters. I think the reason for them is the ability to dial in the gear in cold weather, think gloves, snow, mud, and ice. They work fine for me.
Update? I would like to hear about your current setup. I am upgrading soon. Did you put the new tires on with the AEV 2" lift. Thoughts, pictures please.

My neighbor Chris wanted to try out his new lights. So we headed up to Franks Peak.
Came across this little guy.
Up at the top you get a 360 view of the city. We enjoyed the cooler weather as well.

Out the back door and into La Costa Preserve. I went down and then back up the Switchback Trail.

Rode out into Elfin Forest. I spent a good portion of the ride, slowly climbing.
