    Favorite Cold Weather Modifications

Yeah I would think doors & a roof (with insulation on each) would make a bit of a difference in your FJ40 :) On the heater side of things the cfm of the fan can make a real difference in that if you get a aftermarket unit make sure if moves enough air so you feel it. Of course if you go OEM...

Toyota Landcruiser, overland custom build, Seattle

plenty of HP/torque in the 350 Atlas is plenty tough Dynatrac alxes are serious and the front and rear ARB's make it very nice Roll cage is a bit much but maybe on a "dangerous drives" episode it would look right But what I don't get is the "never drive off road".....WHAT? You spend that kind...

Expeditions 7: Two Years Around the World on all Seven Continents.

Good to see I am not the only one that uses the Fridge as part of my sleep setup :) Never had any issue with the fridge coming on and waking me either. Sleeping inside the rig is the best for me & the family as my younger son likes to string up a hammock so the wife & I get the rig. Once my...

Selling a RS2000 Escort advice please

Well I tell ya before we went to OZ last summer I was spending alot of time on Gumtree as that has become the craigslist of Oz...lots of deals, things seem to sell fast and we regarded. Forums of course are always good as you can find a Ford forum that has a big Aussie following and...

Trans America Trail: A month's journey in a 96 Jeep XJ.

This beats the Land Rover story to death.... Hard to believe you have survived so far after the way they over-hyped the "extreme" nature of the journey...rotating drivers, sat phones, farmed bison...life on the edge :) Thanks for taking the time to update this and letting us travel with you ...

Hey John, Having been to the Allrad Show in Germany before I can tell you it would be completely worth it to attend in your case. Question for Suburban owners?!

Well I live in the desert southwest so not much experience in tight forest trails that you might have....but never any trouble for me. I am usually more concerned about my departure angle than anything else. A mild lift is often enough for most folks. On my rear bumper build I plan to use some...

How to Modify Vehicle Wiring - Starting with the DO NOTs

Good to hear that a nice ratcheting crimper and quality connectors are ok as I suck at soldering...especially upside down and under a dash :) Lucky for me I know a good batch of high quality PEOPLE like Bevin-Ozrockrat & Nick-Nobin..among others that have the knowledge, skills and tools to get...

    2014 Lexus GX460 will cost 10% less

I really don't see how you COULD put an aftermarket bumper on without a ton of plastic cutting. Interesting to see what they factory bull bar will look like as many of the Prados I saw in Oz had Toyota front bumpers with Roo bars as they looked decent.
