And pretty much completely unobtainium for the average US overlander....right?
Don't get me wrong, super cool and if Jeep would offer it in the US then I would be seriously thinking about one instead of converting my old burb to diesel.
But they aren't.
And they won't.
Regardless of how often...
Wow Jonathan, just looking at the names of past members would make me click the link...some solid folks there who are sorely missed.
thanks for the full review/story, going there now
looks like a worthy upgrade and one I really should consider
I hear ya on the shift change, I am now in the PACU (surgical recovery room) from 1030a-11pm and I am NOT a morning person. So where as I used to have a couple of hours each afternoon to do thing I now got NO time for anything but...
I think it is a great setup...
Let's see a Defender 110 was sold for years with 200tdi, then came the 300tdi....not huge engines at all.
I am guessing this rig wgt's next to nothing and since it works for the who cares what any of us think anyway.
I know my 83 MB was a tank compared to this rig...
I still love the story a member here posted about a new LR4 tapping an electric fence and the entire rig shutting down. Including trapping the occupants inside due to elec locks & windows. Now I would have thought there was a way to open an electric locked door from the inside but maybe that is...
Fireworks, fireworks and ummmm fireworks :)
When my boys were that age there was nothing more fun for them than camping on the beach and putting on nightly "shows" for the family.
Not sure what things are like in Canada but for us in the USA fireworks are no longer as easy to access and enjoy...
I love my ARB X-jack but I use a small air compressor instead of vehicle exhaust to fill it. Better control and I can watch the lift.
As for lift height you are on 33" and I have lifted rigs on 35"' no problem. And it is soooo much more stable. Also works great on sand, mud & snow.
Off camber...
If you are using a handheld in your rig then look and see if you can get a remote speaker mic for it.
Most of my Yaesu units (I have 3) have remote speaker mics so I don't have to lift the HT along with it's cables to my face when talking :)
Thanks for the quick bit and link to Overland Tech.....I am in a real love/hate relationship with my Hi-lift and this helps find a back up use for it.
Lifting wise I only use my ARB X-jack as it is soooo much more stable. The Hi-lfit I keep around as a handwinch & backup lift. Not at least I...
Great looking rig and that vintage radio/cb is beyond cool...now if only I could find one of those for my 70 burb.
Really enjoyed the build story, now I am looking forward to some trip reports from Virginia.
Now a video of the new RR doing this trip along with the LWB would be a great thing to post on Expo.
Thanks for taking us along, I like the history you added on the places as that is much of the fun for me. Between the burger, bar & burros it seems like a fun day away from the office.
I own a Red Oxx bag and it is super tough and worth every penny.
Huge thanks for the link as I didn't know they had these smaller and very well prices bags. I am going to add some of these to the Christmas list!
Oh and most importantly MADE IN THE USA and supporting a great small biz at the...
Thanks for the post...
I think legal challenges like this will have to be more common in the future as it is such a successful method used by those who want to shut down motorized access.
I think the best this is to ask everyone to spread this message through whatever social media outlets they...
Oh man how did I miss this one till now?
Another inspiring trip report, I really like your style and the blend of driving, hiking and fun you seem to have.
Thanks for taking us along.
I am driving a 1970 Chevy Suburban...that means it is 42 yrs old. I wonder what it will be like to drive the LR or Jeep system in 44yrs? Will the wiring survive? Will the computers? Of course we might be hovering over the terrain just like we thought we would be by now.
What are the effects of...
