Pop-up versus hard-side height and fuel economy survey

Lightweight DIY Fiberglass pop top camper. It only adds 350 lbs fully loaded to the truck. Reduced mileage is mainly from my 38" tires and lift and not the camper. Without the camper, the mileage doesn't change. The tires are great at 4 wheeling but terrible for High-way mileage. EPA...

My floor and walls have foam and carpet, but I never got around to insulating the ceiling. The automotive "stretch" carpet is nice, as it can stretch around curves. Of course if I insulate the ceiling, I'm going to have to insulate the tent material also. It never ends!! Nice idea using...

Nitto Ridge Grappler - 25,000 mile review Alright, I'm been driving 4x4s and sport cars my entire life. I've used Michelin road tires, Goodyear mud tires, Pirelli race tires, and just about everything in between. I used to be a purist and buy the best race and mud tires. Only problem is that...

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

That's a good point, I'll have to pull up the VHB tape to replace the panels in the future. A peal and still vinyl sounds like a good way to protect the surface of the camper. I've never used vinyl exterior decals or wraps. It this the stuff I would need?

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

10,000 mile Review! I just realized that I've been driving around with my camper now for 10,000 miles since I put it on 13 1/2 months ago. That's about 6,000 miles of daily driving to work and around town. The other 4,000 miles were on weekend adventures and camping in the Badlands / Rockies...

I'm not sure why your paint gummed up but it could have been humidity, or some kind of condensation. As for the paint coming off the steel, there are a couple items to help the paint stick to the metal. 1) Cleaning/degreasing of the surface is key just in case there is some oil, grease or...

The first of many war wounds to come. A week after mounting my camper, I got a nice scratch down the length of my camper from a tree limb. Have fun!

    JK/JL Jeep Camper Concept

Thanks, I like the exoskeleton idea! It looks like I'm not the only one that wants to keep my freedom panels operational with a roof rack. Here are a couple examples I found on the internet. I love the cantilevered design below for simplicity but I wouldn't trust it bouncing around on...
