Well, you can't go to Yellowstone without seeing some of the hot spots. I ended the day camping at Grant campground along the shoreline of Yellowstone Lake.

After Lamar valley, it was off to Rossevelt and Mammoth parts of Yellowstone, before setting camp at Canyons.

These pictures really don't capture how beautiful Bear Tooth Highway is. If you have an opportunity to enter Yellowstone from the Northeast into Lamar Valley don't miss this drive. Lamar is also where you'll see hundreds of Buffalo, and I even saw an endangered grey wolf.

It was a busy day of touring the Black Hills. Below are pictures of Black Elk Mountain, Needles Highway, and Iron Mountain Road. Ended up camping at Grizzly Creek.

After the Badlands, it was a short drive to Keystone South Dakota, and Mount Rushmore. I lucked out and found the last camping site at Horse Thief Lake. This is a beautiful National Forest Campground. The swim in the Lake was incredible.

This is Buffalo Gap National Grasslands. It’s the highest point for miles with great views. The communication towers in the background were hit by lighting the night before I got here. It scared the gebies out of the campers here. It’s a great free spot. I’m sitting here now typing…

I'm heading out on a 3,000 mile trip through Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and Kansas this week. Looks like everything fits nicely under my camper seats and in the kitchen cabinet.
