I wish I looked further west when I bought my last WJ.
245/75/16 is a tight fit in the spare well, at least with duratracs.
It will look good with that set up.
I really dont want to deal with black tanks, but Im sure my wife will overrule me. The 17A doesn't have low hanging plumbing to catch!
Id just do the already offered axle lift, and then put larger tires on myself. I can't see them offering anything special. UNLESS they offer a beefed up frame...
Still looking bud, what we want doesn't exist. Everything is too small, or too big and full of crap we don't want.
And most of all most product is built too poorly for the cost.
My wife's "top choice" is the 19 foot Escape with tandem axles.
But her frequent argument is we can keep buying used...
Thanks for this post. I've not come across this product before.
I'll run it past my wife, but I'm sure this won't fit her bill due to the layout.
I'll go check this out on a desktop computer.
There is a lot of hassle for imported trailers from Australia, such as doors on opposite side, wrong mains power, etc.
Plus I have a budget here.
If $$ was no object I'd have a trailer custom built.
Alas, we are stuck with production trailers under $37,000 CAD.
I kind of miss Saturn. They had to stop using plastic panels because it cost too much to make them. Without the plastic doors etc they were just another Chevrolet or Pontiac
Figured payload would be up around 2200 with that engine and gearing, but I guess crew cab takes some of that away.
Looks good. I would recommend an add a leaf over a taller block. I speak from experience. My stock main springs were flat after two years with 1000+ lb in the back.
In regards to Plumber Mike, I've driven E150/250 for nearly 10 of the last 15 years. Every one was a 4.6 2 valve. Horrible on gas and slow as molasses. Also one of the worst performing vehicles on snow and ice.
What engines have you been graced with?
I bought my 2018 Transit MR LWB and...
Isn't the ride uncomfortable with cranked torsion bars?
I ran an 08 Ranger for years with cranked bars and Bilstein shocks. Wasn't as comfortable as when stock.
The tenth gen F150 and first gen Expedition are related, correct?
Always liked the looks of these guys on 35s. Heck, even on a beefy 33
As well, I'm sure Ford looked over sales and other information and figures to decide there isn't enough market to build luxury HDPP MT trucks.
Same reason they build so few RCSB trucks. Not many people buying them.
Our staple and caulking special aka our purchased used 2010 Forest River Palomino Pony is nearing the end of its life. Barring stripping it down to the frame and rebuilding it.
We have our trailers of "choice" narrowed down to 3 units.
I use quotations because the trailer I/we want doesn't...
I buy when 10k or more off MSRP.
By the time the big incentives are out, it's too late custom order. When you custom order they have you between a rock and a hard place.
When I was buying a fleet Transit 250 I didn't want white, but when all the other options I wanted were on a white van, and a...
ADD has I think the Venom style I really like. They do make some nice, low drag, high speed looking bumpers. I think they cost too much considering, but I agree that they are the few that aren't full on 500# looking cow catching aberrations.
I'd consider:
Ram 1500 3.6 ETorque 4x4 quad cab (6.5 box or whatever it's exact length) with steepest gearing available and factory locker or LSD, whatever is available. With tow package. With the larger fuel tank, run a 33" tire and skid plates. 1.5"-2" front level kit.
F150 3.3 4x4 supercab...
This is what blows my mind with all the black and dark grey campers popping up.
No thanks!
The insulation and design (ie if stick framed) isn't there to counteract the extra gain from the sun.
Something like a Total Composite camper with minimal conduction and lots of R value would fare better...
Come visit me in central Canada. I'll supply you with bourbon, or various national whiskies to heat you. It will keep you less water per volume so you don't freeze solid.
Worse we will camp is -20 to 23 ° celsius. Our "design" temperature aka what we do heating load calculations for buildings...
