    GMT800 Tahoe or Suburban?

I had 4.10s with my 33"s and it was fine. I went to 35"s and 4.88 - and it's much mo betta :). With my 4.88s and 35" tires - cruising at 70 on the highway headed out to Red Rock Canyon - got 21MPG.

    New shocks for 07 Avalanche

Howdy. Have your friend take a look at the Eibach Pro Truck Sport shocks. They are about the same price as the Bilsteins but were specifically designed for Avalanches and offroad performance. My Av was the project vehicle - so I provided all of the info and we had to have dyno'd the initial...

    ZR2 vs. The Rubicon Trail

Very cool that GM finally got serious in this space. My vehicle is an 02 Avalanche NFE that I have done a crazy amount of mods to just to make it how GM should have in the first place.

Solid axle swap: yay or nay?

Mine is an 02 Av. I was leveled on 33s. I've since done some trimming and am running 35s without a lift. As others have mentioned, for overlanding, you'll be fine with the IFS. There are weak links in that front end that should be addressed. I installed the Rare Parts 1.5" tie rods, Cognito...

    My 02 Avalanche NFE

Mine is cladded as well. I'm not necessarily looking for any lift either - just don't want any sag from the weight.

    My 02 Avalanche NFE

Hey Bear, Eibach does specialize in road performance kits - they make every single spring for NASCAR. But, they also do Jeep lift kits and some others, and regular performance improvement. Bottom line is you won't find a better spring anywhere than from Eibach. They make Pro Truck Sport shocks...

    My 02 Avalanche NFE

Couldn't agree more. I actually am really baffled that no one uses them for overlanding - particularly in North America. It's a whole lot cheaper than a Land Rover or Land Cruiser or Jeep, has more power, more torque, more room, just as much capacity (more with a few mods), and has more unique...

    My 02 Avalanche NFE

Bear, The springs are made by Eibach for Strutmaster - so you order from Strutmaster - the part number is HA1R0. Seriously stout and nice looking to boot (Eibach red) and they have both the Strutmaster and Eibach logos on them.

    My 02 Avalanche NFE

I am going to be fabbing in attachment points for an awning. I had to change my original plan of opening the RTT over the rear as it would be 60" wide and the roof line of my Av just over 50" wide. I didn't want my RTT getting smacked and torn up by stuff, so reconfigured to now open off the...

    My 02 Avalanche NFE

Another feature that we built into the rack - a table slide. Was at Front Runner and picked up their very cool camp/safari table. NOTE: If you are looking at the shorter one that is $100 and you decide that it is slightly too short for cooking and opt for the 2": taller and slightly wider...
