    70 C-20 4x4 Suburban Father/Son project

Thanks for the comments Larry....I was bummed to see Bill's Ram run away but we all gotta move on I guess...and I like the idea of Death Valley, top of my list for sure. So maybe I will start in Jan or Feb...much depends on my mentor Nick :) Oh and Nick I figured the struts would go to you if...

Have A Go At This One..

I was just rewatching the video to take some notes for my build... and I laughed when I saw that Land ROVER was a sponsor of the series.....too funny. The only issue I have, and it is the same I noted at Allrad in Germany and many other places...these builds are focused around 2 people....what...

    70 C-20 4x4 Suburban Father/Son project

Wow it has been awhile since I updated this.....oh yeah it is cuz we have been out playing in the burb instead of building it :) I have done a few temp ghetto test things to figure out what I want. Nothing worth posting, just made a file box into a center console to figure out the hgt & size I...

Have A Go At This One..

Great video.... I love that much of it was shot in the outdoors vs when people do the builds all in a shop and you never even see if they actually use the rig. The commentary is fun and as a former Troopie owner I agree with much of the positive and negatives. Alas since they are harder to own...

New to forum, new to everything!

If I could offer some advice from someone who has built a number of rigs and spent WAY too much money.... Here is my list of first things to do: Get an Extreme Outback Tire repair kit and ask them if you can get an extra set of small plugs (then find an old tire & drill bit and practice) Get a...

Difference in Range between Foreign Market Diesels and US Market Petrol Models

Besides the fun factor or longer range there is a secondary cost savings when you don't have to pay much higher fuel prices in very remote places. Not to mention the pleasure of buying fuel out of barrels or jugs in Baja, been there, done that and the worry that goes with it is no fun.

    Vintage Suburban 4x4

67-72chevytrucks.com is a great forum with lots on info on that is for sale around the country along with all the rebuild tech & advice you could ever need. The Blazers are at the top of the price ladder due to rarity and coolness factor. But if you look around there are some killer builds...

    Vintage Suburban 4x4

That is the same grill as my 1970 burb... and almost the same color as Nick-Nobin 's 1972 burb. I love my vintage rig as every bit of it is meant to be worked on and serviced. Unlike so much throw away stuff that is built today. That is true environmentalism. Repair and keep something vs...

2Guys1Truck: Astro Van through Central and South America March 2012

thanks for the update on the travels... I feel for you having to slug it out 18 days on the island...but what is with the no pic of the lady SCUBA instructor? :) I will be adding your blog to the list of ones that get me through horrible nights at the hospital, thanks for keeping the rest of us...

    Second Spair Tire

I did 2400 miles from Canada to Mexico following the Continental Divide off road and never got a flat. Most often it is just a puncture that a plug kit can fix. If you go get a serious sidewall gash you can change to your spare and patch/sew the gash in camp that night. And if you are in most of...

    Jeep: Made in China

when oh when will the US consumer learn that cheap goods mean cheap jobs or no jobs here at home. Sure saving $10k on a vehicle sounds great, but what good will it do when there are no jobs left in the US to pay for the rest of the Jeep? I am not xenophobic or anything, I just think much of our...
