Hutchinson 'Atlas' rims (NSN#2530-01-479-2916). One of the very-very few MRAP wheels that are 'flippable' as both centers are smooth. (FYI - 82 lbs without runflat/beadlocks)
The downside is they are rarer than a leprechaun riding a unicorn. They also require the wheel half bolts to be...
The triplecabs don't open that high. Max opening in the photo below
In the photo below, the red 'nub' on the frame above the brake assembly is where the frame end of my factory safety prop mounted. It was a removable rod (painted red), that was held in storage by a couple of mounting clips when...
That mount might be for the 'safety rod'? There should be a secondary solid rod (painted red) that you can lock into place when the cab is lifted.
You might want to check the pneumatic lines running to the cab lift cylinder (btw, mine being a 3-part/shaft cylinder was the same one as used on...
Tracks and a pair (2) of 572 cubic-inch 8-71 supercharged V8s, for 1/2 the cost of a modified Sprinter

And switches, lots of switches
I don't know who you are looking at, but EZ TRAC makes a 'hydraulic AWD front axle for the FTR (2005 and newer) with Info here. While a Mitsubishi, not an Isuzu, Darrin Fink converted two FM260 way back in the day with 'approval' from Mitsubishi, which is a similar size cabover. If you are...
While I am a big fan of cabovers (Fuso FG and Mercedes 1017A) a 50% difference is a huge amount that will buy a lot of fuel some fuel for travel. And with your familiarity with the Ram that will give you a lot of peace of mind when traveling compared to an unfamiliar and converted truck. And...
From the BaT auction:
The camper cabin was reportedly adapted from a Coachmen aluminum-frame unit
So they took a trailer and flipped it around so the pointy end was at the back for looks. (I'm not agreeing with the idea, just explaining)
Yup, I was ahead of the power curve and added a Gladiator last year not as a replacement for the C4500, but as a supplement. While the Gladiator is not great at 16-17mpg, it beats the heck out of the C4500's 9-10mpg. And thankfully both are gas, diesel is crazy!
I have one but have not had an 'opportunity' to use it. But I can say it is extremely well made, with a lot of thought into the layout of the way the straps connect to get a 'sharp' angle when pulling, super light and compact compared to other metal anchors. A seat of the pants guess, it...
Joe917 is spot on. The fitting on my 1017 below the driver's door was to raise the cab (dreifachkabine) with 'shop' air pressure instead of hand pumping.
That is what I did. Oregon has a 'Special Interest Vehicle' plate which is $70 for a 'lifetime' (which it had when I bought it) and is transferable, so I transferred it in that category and changed the Hagarty to my name. That type Oregon plate is a 'show' type plate, but hey, if I'm driving to...
You might try Hagerty insurance as a 'collector vehicle'. That is who the seller of my MB1017 had it insured with prior to me buying it.
from their website:
I built two of my own boxes for under $40 each using Amazon for all the components. Beside being less than 1/2 price it allowed me to tailor the connects to my needs/preferences, such as SAE connectors, USB ports with a built-in voltmeter (one less hole), Cig and USB ports on a vertical surface...
