I am a huge fan of lightroom and it is pretty much all I use for both pic management and post processing. I don't need the full blown power of photoshop (my wife has those skills).
Thanks for the heads up on the beta
It would be good for the event planner to look into vehicle storage in the area for those for might choose the storage of rig option (one I like, fly back a few months later to continue a journey).
Love it!
Thanks for the info on the stations & fuel, good to know you rang ahead to warn them of the group coming through.
Too funny on the leaving the kid...easy to do when you are in a group and having fun. I have often let my kids ride with someone else in the group & later have their kids...
Glad to hear you are happy with your 700r...
I am running one in my granddad's 72 Chevy truck with a nicely built fuel injected 350 and it has been great.
And even though it is currently behind the diesel engine and in a 4wd, I just want to make sure I have covered all the updates and have it...
Ok beyond cool that the rig lives on here in Expo Land...
Now get out and do some trips so we can see it in action, I don't care if you just do a weekender, it will be great to see that rig out in the wild
The donor is home...
Huge thanks to one of the Copper State Cruiser guys Brian for the use of his truck & trailer to safely get this rig to my house.
I need to go through it and make sure what year it is, what is missing and what is there, get it running and then get the engine/turbo out and...
Question about getting fuel at cattle stations like this...
Do they have to sell fuel to you? Is it expected or do you just ask & hope?
Are the cost much higher since there is no other option?
I am loving this read so please keep it going, thanks
I like the general concept...
But here are my "devils advocate" thoughts:
Keep the fee as low as possible and make it clear that any extra goes to a charity..then make sure you tell everyone how much that it and who it went to.
Make sure you have trophies for the top 2-3 in each class...a small...
If we are going down memory lane...
remember all the really high mpg diesels we had in the 80's?
Escorts, Rabbits, Chevettes and more???
Yeah between the big 3, big oil and yes the EPA they were all killed off.
Of course big Marketing and a terrible US consumer had a hand.
A 4runner will push your budget to find a nice one...while a XJ Cherokee will be very nice at that price and maybe leave you money to put on tires or baseline the maint.
Heck yeah...why do you think I am about to put in a 6.2L diesel...so I can run veggie oil since when the end of the world comes there won't be any oil companies left :)
And Mexico has plenty of veggie oil for cooking up all that good food!
I am with Kurt on this one..
I have the ARB and it is all I will use, I played with the Titan just enough to know I didn't think it held a candle to the ARB.
Oh and if you are worried about rig wgt, well my old beat up ARB lifted the front of an 11,000 lb Sportsmobile :)
Great pics Larry..oh and I would be very happy to take any odd parts you have laying around :)
The aftermarket turbo looks to be an ATS setup..I will post up pics as soon as I get it home tomorrow.
My goal is to gather all the parts I can and then do the swap quickly (well as quickly as...
We have long been joking about doing a cool end of the world trip..
Making it in Mexico as part of the Mayan thing is super cool.
Me & mine are in depending on the dates...I would want to make it worth the doing (as in not too fast a trip) but no way to make it more than 3-4 weeks without...
Great pics and nice job getting out for a quick retreat.
I am really liking your setup and would love to hit the dirt with you guys some time...but not sure about letting my wife see how nice that is or I might be towing one shortly thereafter.
She has always talked about having a nice basecamp...
I stopped by the Prescott shop yesterday and saw this rig in the parking lot...
I would leave the paint & decals just as they are. Folks in the hot rod world are PAYING money to get a fake patina like you have :)
I remember those from when I was a kid...
didn't work well then but it was all we had until we built a York setup on one of the ranch trucks
Now as someone else said the $50ish or whatever MV50 is such a great deal nothing else is worth messing with.
