    Double R Trailer Rebuild

fzjeighty, I don't think Ace's opinon has changed on the need for brakes on a off road trailer, Its probably the fact that its been super cold here lately and his priorities is on skiing and staying warm. I also believe that off road trailers should have brakes on them.

    The 10 Year Commitment

I'am starting my 6th year of a 10 year plan with a FJ Cruiser, thinking of pushing it out to a 15 year plan. With your situation I would go with the crew cab Tacoma, the FJ has been a awesome rig for my wife and me but we also don't have children or large dogs. Both the Taco and FJ are holding...

Am I crazy? I am lusting after a 2013 2.7 Tacoma regular cab, but is it healthy?

That would be it. The shell model is still high $$$ but quite a bit less than the fully equipted models and you can do your own interior build to suit your needs or leave it empty.

Am I crazy? I am lusting after a 2013 2.7 Tacoma regular cab, but is it healthy?

dnorrell, I don't think I have a picture of the truck/trailer together but I will check and if I do I will get it to you. My brother is actually living in Denver now so getting a pic if I don't have one now may be a while. The tear drop and truck do look good together, but it look even better...

Am I crazy? I am lusting after a 2013 2.7 Tacoma regular cab, but is it healthy?

I don't think you are crazy for wanting a RC Taco at all, there is a lot to like about them. My brother bought a 2012 RC 4x4 with a AT and I'am surprised at how well it performs. He pulls a So-Cal teardrop with it here in Colorado and it gets the job done. Granted it's not going to pull it over...

    Sleeping bag quality

Sorry I missed this last year. To answer your question they are located in Grand Junction, Co. and as far as how much they put the discount out there as public knowledge I do not know, I was made aware of it because I stopped by at the factory and the nice lady at the sales desk told me about...

ALPS Mountaineering Dining Table on Clearance

I bought one that is similar to this one (the top is a little different) about 10 years ago at a Sams Club for $45. It has been on countless camping trips and used around the house, it is still going strong although the carrying bag is about worn out. It is also very stable and the height is...

    Moby1 owners?

irish1371, I had a homebuilt TD that had a 4' wide cabin for a couple of years and had use of a So-Cal TD that was 4 1/2' wide and never felt claustrophobic in either of them. The extra 6" of width the So-Cal TD had really made a big difference in comfort though.

    Moby1 owners?

Dennis, I'am also interested in what you found out at Moby 1 as well. BTW I'am the guy you called about the So-Cal Krawler a few weeks ago. Thanks Doug.

The "Amazing Box Tent" Pop Up Camper, Very Rare Find.

Price reduced to $2,000.00 Lowering price to $2,000.00 :Wow1: As Ace has mentioned when mounted on a utility trailer with the axle flipped and decent size/proper tires this can be taken over moderate trails with ease. When mounted on a PU truck you can pretty much go anywhere you can get...

Moving back to the States, what vehicle?

A Tacoma with a off road trailer should solve the GVWR concerns you have. Reliability, safety, aftermarket support and fuel economy should also be within your criteria as well.

    Kokopelli Trail

I would forget the trailer. There are a few access points that you can pre-stash water at. If you are starting on East end (Loma) the first place would be Rabbit Valley, then Westwater, Cisco, Dewey Bridge and up Onion Creek, all are accessible by vehicle. You should be able to carry enough...

    Double R Trailer Rebuild

Ace was going to use them to make a adjustable rear stabilizer. I think he is going to go with another idea now though. I helped Ace install some inside tie down points the other day and the trailer is looking good, he should have a very nice off road trailer. Still think he should have left...

    White Rim Trail Trip Report

The NPS does not allow pets in the back country, so Dixie was a no go. The Maze and Needles has the same rule. :(

FS: Escape 17 Travel Trailer, CO

Very nice trailer! I'am very familiar with this trailer since I have done quite a few trips with Ace. It is in great shape, Ace takes care of his stuff. The size is perfect IMO, Big enough inside to be very comfortable but small enough outside to be taken into tight places and we have been to...

The "Amazing Box Tent" Pop Up Camper, Very Rare Find.

NOTE: The Box Tent has been taken off the market for now, my brothers son is going to use it this summer. What is a "Box Tent" you ask? It is a fibre-glass and wood constructed slide-in pop-up tent camper that was made in Canada. It is built for long bed full size pick up trucks but will work...

Maggiolina AirTop Field Review (Part 1)

A very good and honest review on the Air Top IMO. I have 26 nights in my Air Top that I bought used in July (previous owner claimed they used it 3 nights) and I have had about the same experience as you. For me I have found that it sleeps quite warm in cooler weather, which is about the only...
