BritKLR, its a hard pill to swallow but proven science would dictate that your best choice of action would be to dispatch any and all mangy coyotes and foxes.
I applaud your desire to do the right thing and in many cases a "run to the rifle" isn't always correct. Do your own research to...
Has anyone been able to find online maps of the various changes? For example the Owyhee wilderness changes refer to a Map-set from like 2016 or something and I can't find it anywhere. I suspect its only available in-person at BLM locations.
If so, it smacks of another example of "you'll...
Howard, I'm confused about your comment on TMPs when you say "let other tracks decay (providing challenging 4x4 and route-finding opportunities) and restrict cross-country vehicular traffic."
The TMPs that I've been involved in and aware of close all routes that aren't designated as "open" so...
Matt, I wanted to circle back and let you know that on the strength of your post above, I researched and bought an inDeflate kit and I'm really impressed. Solid, seemingly durable kit that suits my need for something that measures up to 100psi. The fact that it deflates/inflates 2 tires at...
The only insta-tents these days are Shiftpods. They make connectors that you can add several together. But it ends up costing more than the Cabo B&B mentioned up thread.

For your jack, I’ve now tried out the SafeJack (albeit in a safe and comfy controlled environment) and I was pretty impressed with how it worked.
I bought the kit with the several extensions and it seems to fit the bill.
Yeah that's a lot of beef off the back. Maybe trailer is a good option. When you're looking for a good shake down, you should head up to Church Dome. If we didn't drive all the way in to the base we would pull up short on a spur road above the river looking across the valley and camp there...
Yeah, I suspect the insulation on your Roadtrek was similar to the SMB - which is to say non-existent.
We are looking forward to the high R value of the GXV panels.
Yeah, don't we all.
But seriously, we were actually quite proud of the fact that our SMB was plugged into a campsite exactly 2 nights - which were the first 2 nights we spent in it after picking it up - and after a while, I just stopped carrying the gear. We relished finding spots to camp...
I think even the three point platforms I referred to utilized some kind of hydraulics in them so its not a bad option. But some of them weight as much as the vehicle you are putting on them so beware of that. It becomes a lot to hang off the back of an already laden vehicle. MIghtyHauler is...
The ones I’ve always felt were not janky looking and appeared to be capable of not falling apart during offroad travel are the “three across” hitch mounts. They looked like the bumper had three receivers across the back to support the weight while still being removable.
Will try to find a pic.
In terms of weight saving you might consider just converting all shackles to soft shackles. Those hard shackles are heavy.
Also I'm a fan of having a kinetic rope having seen them in action on heavy machinery around here......
After all this, I ended up sticking with the tire table. It fits our big ****** tires well and I built a bracket that holds it in storage pretty efficiently.
