THANK YOU kind Sir for the kind words.
YES it was a lot of planning and a LOT of work, but we have what we planned and wanted.
Your timing is perfect! We depart the Atlanta GA area headed for Nova Scotia and Newfoundland in 3 1/2 weeks. We will spend 2+ months on the road and chase the...
Added a little storage. We have a long trip coming up and wanted a place to store some of the spare parts we carry, move them from the drivers side under box, plus carry a few more parts. Mostly lightweight stuff, but still takes up space. We had steel placed in the rear wall when we had the...
I thought my wife was kidding! She talked to the magazine on IG, not my territory :-) Who knew.....

CHEERS!!
What a shock! :-)
Finally had time between trips to rotate the tires and install the rear shocks.
During the tire rotation I found a small slice on a rear tire. I think it happened on the last trip, not sure how.
Sent a picture to my tire rep and he said do not install on the steer, that...
YES!
Like Howard70 implied.
We usually air down the tires first, it GREATLY improves the ride and aides in not beating the heck out of the habitat and truck.
Then if we take just a few pounds off the highway airbag pressure setting in the Kelderman set up on our rig it lets the...
Does not exist for the 5500. I carry a 20 ton jack, and impact sockets, under the drivers seat :)
Considering my rear axle weighs in at 11,000 LBS loaded...figure the jack is my responsibility! LOL!!
Communication radios- We wanted a compact unit preferably hidden away. We saw this unit, Midland MXT575, on a Jeep we meet while on our long west trip. We decided to upgrade the stock antenna, hopefully for better range.
THANK YOU Brad, see above, for the antenna mount link! :)
We...
Interesting build. It is smaller for sure, which again is a choice. Lighter materials, less "stuff" Would have to see one in person.
Not sure what the Terranova would weigh fully loaded for a trip of a few weeks. Some of their numbers might work.
11,000 LBS dry. Add 56 gallons of water, all...
Beach camp...Super Single does have an advantage there for sure.
YES finding a truck for reasonable amount is CRAZY at times! The RAM CA prices are crazy right now!
We locked in MSRP during CRAZYVID and when we picked the truck up the dealer tried to add $15K!
Did not work...LOL...but they...
That is a loaded question as the prices have increased a LOT. I purchased 5 20" rims from Buckstop @ $2935 and sourced the MPT 81's from a local commercial tire shop I had worked with before. I have looked into replacement MPT's and they seem to run from $500 to $650 each. Good news is we...
Not sure about the F550 but my RAM 5500 the width of the outside dually tires (before), now SRW MPT 81's, and the width from inside to inside on the mirrors was almost exactly the same, hence our box is 94" wide. I can see PERFECTLY down the side of the box. The interior space is AWESOME and...
I am surprised Quade said that. I know he has built a box very similar to mine VERY RECENTLY on an F550. I know TC does not sell consumer direct kits, I TOTALLY understand that for quality assembly control. Not that some of us could not do it but after seeing how Quade and his crew assembled...
EXACTLY! PLUS my 5500 will turn circles around my 2014 GMC DMAX! Wide track small turning radius has already been a huge help off roading. "Under trucked" is not a good, or safe, thing.
My 2 cents....
CHEERS!!
Finally some time to catch up!
Got home from the "big" trip and needed to catch up on home life.....and get my hands looked at. A few injections, pills and an upcoming surgery hopefully will bring the hands back around. I pushed a little too hard to get Snowball finished before the trip and...
SWEET! When we talked about this over a year ago I TRIED to have Buckstop do exactly that, no luck.
The valve extensions work ok at best, valve stems on both sides would be NICE!
CHEERS!!
I have been thinking the same thing, SPARE FAN! As my little brain works, BETTER fan...LOL.
Maybe I should not mess with a 3 year constant run fan...LOL.
I came SO CLOSE to repeating the pee mess on this trip, right before we met up. NOTE TO SELF!!
CHEERS!!
Nate,
I did not read the portal in time...but..it was GREAT to meet you and chat. Thank you for hanging around after the group talk, my wife and I really enjoyed chatting with you. We just returned home and I am catching up. You saw how busy we were at the Expo :) around the camper.
