I, too, am ooking for a Subaru Forester. A newer one though, and was surprised to find the latest gen Forester dimensions and the WJ are near exact measurements in almost every way except rear cargo and that's only a difference of 5 or 10 cu ft. Not bad considering the Forester is 4 cylinder...

Cool little feature: click the key forward 3 times, stopping on the 3rd forward twist without starting the engine...and any CEL codes will appear in place of the digital odometer. As computerized and screen-filled as today's trucks are, they could be doing that to the nth degree, but they wont

Mine was a 1999, and I JUST got rid of it a year ago. And that was only because it had been languishing the last couple years as I took my truck everywhere. Red headed step-child just sort of sat and rusted. They can be got very inexpensively and wont break the bank for upgrades...

Sure! I had one for years, in between driving a couple of Big Blazers and my current GMC truck. I found the 4.0 liter inline 6 cylinder engine immensely easy to work on. Plugs, coils, starter, oil changes. Did the fuel rail...Even doing the water pump wasnt bad. Then I reached out to KOLAK...

SOLD: Suunto MC-2 /360/IN/D Compass (Never used.)

I've got one of these - mine is NOT Global needle that this one is. I love it. Probably best compass made today. No bubbles. My new Brunton 5 with Global needle - yeah...bubble already. Talk about sentimental...I still have my Silva Ranger Type 15 from the late 1980's. I beat the hell out...

2018 Chevy Colorado/Trailblazer Axle Play Question

You guys got a MUCH better Trailblazer than anything we got in the U.S.! I hate the American one but would drive yours all day

Camp Tables - What are you using?

I use my GMC Sierra tailgate unless there is a table at the camp I am in.

    May need a new battery?

Do you have a volt-ohm meter (multimeter)? That should give you an idea, checking directly at the posts when the vehicle is off, and again when the vehicle is on to see if the charge is making it to the battery.

    1999 Chevy Tahoe, 2-Door, 4x4 - *SUPERCHARGED* - Full Overland Build

Beautiful truck, Dave. What the h3ll would you want to get rid of THAT for? If I had that money, I'd scoop it up. The old 2 door big Blazer is my favorite truck of all time, and this is a Blazer with a Tahoe name

    Buyer beware - MVT Offroad

Chargeback and be done. Criminal charges are absolutely not worth your time for $80. Your time is worth money and if you spend more than 2 hours on this, you are wasting your time

    Jeep Wrangler 2024 Upgrade rumors...

They just saved enough money, shutting down the plant that makes the Cherokee. That's in limbo. Pour that cash into this refresh. Hard to imagine greater capability out of the box than a Wrangler. Refined Icon, minor styling cues altered? I was impressed with the technology in my brother in...

Is the roof tent trend over?

God, I hope so. That's a little tongue in cheek - a little. For me, I think they are a cool idea, but in the NorthEast and having a pickup with Leer Cap, I've just never had a use for one. I bet they are handy out west or in desert areas. Keep the worry of scorpions and snakes down, I suppose

What do you put in your center console?

*Byrd Cara Cara sheepsfoot, serrated rescue knife, clipped to the underside of the lid. There's a standard gold and brown boot lace that I use as a lanyard on it. In an emergency, just open the lid and pull the boot lace. *Mini MagLite LED or my 20 year old SureFire which has been upgraded to...

Why they chose 2015 and up, I will never know.

New GM Tranny Class Action Suit, Tempest in a Teapot, Or…?

The struggle is real. Not just the 8-speeds, either. My 2014 GMC Sierra 5.3 Liter Z71, 6 speed trans does it. Usually as I slow for a relight or traffic, place my foot on the brake gently, or then need to start accelerating. Seems all the moving parts can figure it out in unison. And every...

2000 Suburban K1500 budget low lift with 37"s

About 10 years ago I had the 4L60E to my full sized Chevy Blazer Silverado 2-door rebuilt. I seem to recall $1700 or 2 grand or something. Even if the price doubled, as long as the rest of the vehicle is tip top, it could be worth it.

Financing for a new van? Yikes

Yikes: one of my favorite exclamations. Unfortunately, over the last few years, I've had call to utter "Y-yikes" more and more often

A Stroll Down Memory Lane, Best Pickup Truck Comercials

Yes sir. Matter of fact, any Chevy - Bob Seger - Like A Rock ad. People who weren't even born then are aware of them. I'm driving a GMC now but when that song comes on, I just have to blast it for that standing slide guitar solo

EV’s have less cold weather range? Here’s an interesting article on that

No real world experience with electric cars here but School buses have specific routes. Easy enough to find service or plan for issues along a route. I imagine the real issue can arise if an electric vehicle is used for adventuring or contract work, going to varied and differing locations

What's your favourite frying pan? Market Research

Recently picked up a Brandini high nitriding thin cast iron pan. Pretty non stick, but it is not a coating that will scratch off. Good stuff. Cast iron, reasonably non stick and very lightweight
