Congrats on the new-to-you van TheEL ! : )
Your pick of tire and lift should take it to another level of fun-factor, or at least BLING Factor.
Hey, if you want to do something fun with sprucing up the "AWD" decal there are some easy DIY options out there. I made ours with the help of the...
Ah U R right... being an old school 60's & 70's muscle car guy recalling the dash mounted tac... I really didn't think of selecting the RPM-ish digital version. Maybe next trip as an experiment.

Back when there was a similar discussion I remember matching the appropriate door-jam plate info and remember it having the 3.42/LSrear option. 86cj is way ahead of me in knowledge/info on the particulars as I have no RPM gauge on our rig. In the hills it doesn't spend much time in OD and seems...
Our e rated 265/70/r17's are just a smiddgen over ~32" tall up from the stock 245's at ~30".
Running the van just under GWVR loaded for adventure we were still able to pass going uphill (Oregon coast range and Cascades) pulling our (now sold) 15ft fiberglass TT weighing 2400lbs at scales. Didn't...
Both CG bases are top picks I hear (have several acquaintances that are working at either the local one in Astoria or across the bay at Cape Disappointment). My wife and I raised our family out here and finally got used to our soggy paradise. Now that our two kids are grown and have spent a...
It's a fun beach to drive. . . right across from my _home_ beach in Astoria/Warrenton < Great access to beach in Fort Steven's State Park.
Enjoy the adventure (great paint scheme on your rig!)

I can't say on the differences on models, I can say our stock cargo awd came with the singles that we swapped out for Truck Lite LEDs that get solid reviews by users. They really through out usable light and are well worth the simple install & cost.

Thanks for sharing the link & photos Railvan. ~Almost~ like being there!
Though I think the weather is a bit cooler sitting from our couch on the Oregon coast.
...possible heat was all that stopped us from going. i'd read to many to-hot stories. maybe one of these years we'll brave it.

this info is applicable for any rig... : )
I LOVE decals... BUT I typically don't have any on the rear of the van these days. All you see in the image below are on the sides of boxes except the big white mountain decal on the galley box. I'd rather not have someone distracted while reading...
Congrats on the acquisition ! Looks like a great rig for family fun.
For our 2010 pre-lift kit we had about ~12" of clearance on the body with standard tires from what I recall.
We are now running 265/70/r17 E rated with the BOR lift and have ~15"
You should be fine on most forestry roads...
Greetings.
I've pondered the same. I had researched the idea of using some sort of marine "Portlight" or similar. And while i'm not finding the size I had a few years back i'm sure they are still available. (amazon example search link). What I imagined was cutting the appropriate size in the...
Battery tray mod is a must post to the AWD thread IMO!
The battery event up a trail would be a bummer. Today i'm meeting up with the prez of our local HAM club to brainstorm ideas on getting a radio in the van. All I typically run is a handheld and that doesn't hit the repeaters once we are...
Really sweet mod!! I seriously need to take these pics down to my local shop and see if they can work in something similar. I want to install a mobile dual band ham and can't see it being successful without some extra juice somewhere. And under the hood has been a dream for a while now. THX for...
great looking bumper! And I agree w/the above post on the top coating of por-15. Great stuff, but left alone a project (painted w/black por 15) faded to grey in under a year even in our PNW.

If you are talking about naterry's Ute E350... I recognize the front bumper and rear-with-boxes as similar set up as our Aluminess we have on our AWDchevy. IF that's the case, they typically don't come on the cheap! But worth every penny for our use. We just got back from a 5 day trip and our...
Our camp chairs are all by Alite Designs: 2 x Bison (these are the ones we use at the meal table) and 1 x Mantis (my wife's) and 1 x Monarch (mine, and I could sit in it for hours and hours!)

We had that experience in certain situations with the hood scoop on our TACO. Looked cool, but the reflection while driving west was too much at times.
Thom
Your van is looking great with the fiberine top installed. Sometime we gotta meet up!!
We LOVE our Aluminess on our #AWD van. Having the galley box on camp side makes camp set up much easier for us.
