That's good to hear. I am surprised you were able to get such extended use with the two of you. . . and to ask a TMI Q did that include all the #1 uses also? My wife and I switched over to WAG Bag/DIY WB use as the unit we had (a ~5gal dometic) was not enough for a week's adventure.

On sleeping systems... in the our van (realizing it is a tad more roomy) we use a full size Froli Sleep System that we totally enjoy. The FSS would be similar in some ways to what your wife is sleeping on. On hammocks? We set ours up as often as possible in areas that the furry-four-footed types...
Really nice job on the rear-access cabinetry.
I was also curious as to what was in the black "Tenkara USA" rod/tube...i'm not a fisherman but if I was I think one of their fly fishing setups would fit with my inner-Zen-ness way of looking at life and solutions (the basic philosophy on our van...
As others have noted, way cool mod!
100% True for me and my beloved. I learned early on to always let her have the _cool rig_ for her daily driver. She never has issue over modding.

I think that basic concept (beta testing an interior) is underrated. We had a blast dreaming/tweaking/modding-again and camping all the while.
( : + everything 86cj said : )

sometime back in ?1990? my wife and I took a test drive in a van (might have been a Ford E series?) on a dealer lot that had four captains chairs and a wall behind the second row chairs with what looked like a canopy hatch that opened inward. This allowed the "crew" to grab contents in the cargo...
That is THE reason Cari and I went with the van. Prior to finding ours I had been in communication with XPCamper/Marc and were in pre-purchase Q mode and had a nice truck lined up...but we just couldn't get ourselves past the idea of having to get out of the living area/bedroom to get to the...
Had a look, seems like u r getting the foundation all tweaked and refreshed.
Are you planning an interior mod? Or keeping things set primarily as a passenger rig?

Fantastic sunset!!
That (actually seeing the horizon and sun) would be a rare site here on the Oregon Coast.
THX Jo. It is what it is a lot because of me digging in the builds here and _there_ and gleaning from others : )
I needed to read that list. I'm still smiling. There's got to be a...
Bozwell... totally on the not liking stock look!
Nice grab on the AWD van.
ours then and now : )
Five years of building bit by bit. The folks at the dealership think we never take ours out of the driveway with just ~35K on the OD...but it is my wife's DD.

Greetings, and best wishes on the hunt for the rig/project. I enjoyed reading through the replies and thought i'd share from a slightly different perspective.
We were Volvo AWD peeps due to the nearly year round poor road conditions on the Oregon Coast. We also had a 1980 WESTY for a bit < fell...
I do agree it looks better than stock, and ( ; maybe ; ) even approaching awesome...
but... I think if there was a factory option for this "stance" it would take it to a new level of awesomeness.
Yea, call me crazy. I can take it.

On camp wood & sourcing. We can rarely find wood that is not to wet to get a good burn in the usual size one would put in a fire pit/ring, though what we've found is that even wet wood down to a pencil size hasn't much chance to escape the eventual burn inside the small rocket stove : )
On Hood...
Got a kick out of the picture of all that wood on the roof. That would be a year's worth (and beyond?) of camping wood for our little Rocket Stove! About 1 piece cut down to pencil size will do us for an evening in camp.
=====wanted to share that we removed the 3M di-noc carbon fiber wrap...
Greetings,
There is a fellow expo member that has done just what you are asking about.
Check _this post_ and a the prior page I think he has another post or two explaining how he pulled it off.
Best wishes on your build.

Welcome to the AWD club !
I think the mild lifts on these rigs give them just enough trail-ish bling to really shine. And as 86cj pointed out there are stock-part options to get it done rather than going with the BOR lift as we did. When we had a local shop put the kit on for us the owner...
