It's update time. My buddy Mark had these light plugs made for me. I was planning on having them match the original hole perfectly. In the end we decided that perfectly was much to difficult to do. He's a mechanical engineer and drew them up on his computer. Then I got a phone call where...

Wow, that's a bit obnoxious. I'm assuming the smaller the file size the bigger the picture comes out on the site. Sorry about that, it just about knocks one out of their chair it's so LOUD. Back to work I go.

This is my fuel mileage to date. Or back in December when I last drove this thing. It got better the more I drove. Perhaps if I'd gone all the way up to Washington I'd be getting 16.

I'm going to do it sprinter van style with a platform bed across the back and garage underneath. After traveling in my friends sprinter I've found it works well for my purposes.

In case we have different frames, mine is 33 1/2" on the outside measured at the very back.

I just measured that front right box for you. It's almost 3x3 feet and just over 7 feet tall if you were to cut out the floor and top of the battery box. Not sure what all of that would entail and I'm sure it wouldn't be fun. If a guy was determined enough to have a 7 foot shower I think it...

No I still don't know anything about the material. This doesn't sound like the stuff you are referring to. It's lighter than plywood and easy to cut. If I had found more of this material I would use the 1/2 inch version for most of my build. I have a load of starboard coming instead. On...

I wish I knew. I didn't get to a scale on the way home and now I'm grounded by lack of insurance. There is a sticker on the door that says I have a payload capacity of 3050 lbs so gvwr of 17,500 minus the 3050 leaves me with a weight of 14,450. Hopefully what comes out will be close to the...

I got the inside cleaned out. I wasn't going to tear it down this far until Cowpig told me about all the wasted space. I'm keeping the cabinet by the door intact. It's going to be a giant pantry. The hoseline heater/cooler you see on top is about a third the size of the space it's in. Once...

I'd be very surprised if you didn't have one or two in there. Now you have a mystery to solve. Good luck.

There was a cabinet on the left side just before you go through the pass through. The electrical board went floor to ceiling in that cabinet and the relays are on the very bottom of that board. Look at the 5th picture in post number 2 and you will see them.

I'm going to say yes even though I've never seen one like that. Can you check it by throwing the switch and testing for voltage before and after. Mine look like this.

rossiter78, There's something to be said for just using the darn thing. I'll be spending hours and hours working on mine while you are out there enjoying life. On mine everything is controlled by relays and solenoids. There is one main solenoid/relay that allows the batteries to energize the...

Moving the electrical panel into the front drivers side box. This one's for you Jim. Yes we do have almost identical vehicles. Mine is a Wheeled Coach as well. I assume your interior was made from the composite panels as well? Thanks for the tip about the front speakers. You probably...

Getting Started I made some scale drawings of the truck before I left it. With these I was able to get that sketchup model going. This is also how I figured out which solar panels would work. I wanted to get as much solar up there as possible. I hope to automatically divert excess power...

I guess it's time to come out of hiding. I've been postponing this write up for a while now. The truck has been sitting in my Dad's back yard for a couple of months before I could get to it. It gave me plenty of time plan and then change plans, repeat. A few words on why I ended up with...

I've now used both the natures head and airhead brands. I prefer the natures head and definitely like the peat moss better. Both toilets have a hard time mixing all of the compost. They leave a good 25% of it untouched and compressed on the bottom. I thought the airhead would be better because...
