    GMT800 AWD??

I’d probably make sure that there aren’t any inherent issues with this drivetrain first. I know the regular drivetrain is pretty robust. Anyone know of any issues with this AWD system? Is parts availability for repairs going to be an issue?

    GMT800 AWD??

Well, this is helpful and freaky at the same time. I just happened to get this on my YouTube feed: https://youtube.com/shorts/hllVKU3hqCk?si=mVs50slux5I8Rqnl Per the narration and comments, it appears AWD + 4Lo was an option in some models.

    GMT800 AWD??

That’s my question. This below is what most of them look like.

    GMT800 AWD??

I was browsing the local classifieds and came across this 2003 Suburban. Seems like a regular LT trim. But the transfer case selector is one I haven’t seen before (see picture below). I’m assuming this is an AWD trim. Which I didn’t know existed in a Suburban. I thought these were only...

Is GM not the best platform for a overland build?

Yup! (Mute the video. Some absurd soundtrack)

Is GM not the best platform for a overland build?

I agree Ford’s figures are a bit misleading. They just throw everything under the ”F-series” sales. I’d imagine F150’s make up a large portion of the overall sales. I have no loyalty to a brand. But I do have fond memories of GMC vehicles growing up.

    2001 Suburban K2500 - Summer Camping & Winter Commuting

How is the ride with the 5100’s? I’m eyeing a couple of GMT800 2500’s locally (in Utah).

Update on the new Mini FJ…coming to the USA soon?

It’s definitely not worth the $10k, I agree. Jeep is fine for daily use as well. I think the extra room in the bronco might suit some people better. Plus, in my opinion, Jeep looks so much better.

Update on the new Mini FJ…coming to the USA soon?

It depends on your usage. For rock crawling, Jeep wins. For daily use and longer road trips, I’d say Bronco.

Update on the new Mini FJ…coming to the USA soon?

I think they’re referring to the “baby G” linked in the article. Doesn’t really give any details, but they’re not referencing the G wagen. This will compete with the Bronco Sport. Does this mean it’ll be based on the RAV4 chassis? If it even makes it into production.

    Balancing Payload capacity vs. Offroad

No, mine is 1,920. I just found those online. I remember lots in that range back a few years ago. The brand new ones, I’m not sure about.

    Balancing Payload capacity vs. Offroad

I can’t say I’ve never been tempted by the squiggly. King ranch is not just comfy but looks amazing!

    Balancing Payload capacity vs. Offroad

Man, some people are so sensitive. This isn’t a peepee measuring contest. If an HD works better for you, great. But don’t make it sound like 1/2 tons will implode upon touching dirt. Back in the day, we used rangers and F100’s for work and camping way out yonder and neither of them exploded...

    Balancing Payload capacity vs. Offroad

I wonder why it varies so much between the same trim. I have a neighbor with a Platinum (SuperCrew) and he’s at 1,450.

    Balancing Payload capacity vs. Offroad

Supercab only 1300?? I’ve never seen it that low. Didn’t know they killed the hdpp option. Regardless, if I’m going on a camp trip with the family, I take the F150. Mine’s a few years old (2020), XLT, Supercrew with 1900lb payload. Bed full of stuff for a week and she drives just fine on and...

    Balancing Payload capacity vs. Offroad

No, regular cabs can get up over 3k lbs. I’m talking about SuperCrew 4wd’s. What dealers sell 90% of the time. None are near 1,200lbs, unless you’re talking about Raptors. Even those are more like 1,500. Lots in the 2-2,900lbs (ones in the upper part of that range have the hd payload package).

    Balancing Payload capacity vs. Offroad

Not that I completely disagree, but on the point of 1/2 tons driving “like trash” when loaded up, I don’t agree with. Especially on-road, where the bulk of most folk’s travel mileage is. F150’s can have 2000-2,900lb payload. That’s a lot of weight you can carry. I’ve not had issues when under...

Ram 3500 - Spare tire options for 37s.

Hmm… I still don’t understand how slapping a flat tire on a rim changes the distance traveled. Rolling a bare rim next to a rim with a flat tire on it, the bare rim will spin faster? And still doesn’t explain the indirect TPMS system, either. My conclusion is that a flatter tire definitely...

Ram 3500 - Spare tire options for 37s.

rruff- I’m still not convinced but I’m not arguing that I’m right either. 😁 I’m just really curious to myth bust this and get to the bottom of it. That video was good but wish they would’ve used a bigger than a 27” tire. I don’t know if there was any meaningful data that could be gathered with...

Anyone 'daily' or do a lot of miles in a Grenadier?

This with 5-digit mileage now, how has it been? My wife is really wanting one, which I’m trying to dissuade her from. She does not offroad. And if we do, we’re taking my Jeep or the old Sequoia. I’d imagine daily driving it wouldn’t be as comfortable as her Toyota Highlander. Or as practical.
