    2024 F150

I think that’s the highest range I’ve seen in an F150. Do you have the 2.7 or 3.5? What’s your gearing?

What an envious life! Are you still on the road full time? Would you mind sharing what your average monthly cost is to be on the road?

    2024 F150

I was able to squeeze 700-ish miles on both the 2.7 and 3.5 (both had 36 gallon tank). But I was light footing it at 70mph. 33” tires, but stock suspension.

    2024 F150

I had an XL. Although the electronic nannies get annoying, you get used to it fairly quick. What type of trails will you be doing? If you’ll be doing rough trails where you’re doing to be dragging bottom a lot, RCI makes skid plates. Transmission should learn how you drive and it should...

    Silverado bigger gears?

I never mentioned your F250, since that’s not in question. The context was the OP’s truck, a 2017 Silverado. Here is the comparison:

    Silverado bigger gears?

Not really apples to apples comparison since your tundra already comes with 4.30. Which is great for stuff we do and I wouldn’t mess with that, either. But 3.23, 35’s and heavy vehicle? I’d strongly consider regearing. In fact, I would have done that first, before cams or any other modifications.

Wife needs car: Highlander vs. 4Runner vs Sequoia vs Landcruiser, rough differences info?

@Dave in AZ - one thing you can try is rent these vehicles for a few days. Apps like Turo is great for that.

Wife needs car: Highlander vs. 4Runner vs Sequoia vs Landcruiser, rough differences info?

I don’t consider the 4Runner a 3-row SUV. It’s a 2.5-row SUV. Trying to fit someone back there over 3’ tall should be considered cruel and unusual.

    Vehicle Selection Help

Corkscrew? You can do that in a 100% stock 4Runner. I did it in a stock Tacoma and never needed a locker. Engineer was the toughest but didn’t need it there, either. Clearance was the bigger issue, which you have with your 2” lift and 32’s.

Wife needs car: Highlander vs. 4Runner vs Sequoia vs Landcruiser, rough differences info?

Are you looking at new or used? For me, with 3 kids, it’s Sequoia all the way. Lots of room for stuff in the back. Plenty wide for 3 teens. And it does not feel that big to drive, either. I’d recommend a 2nd Gen Sequoia. Very robust, spacious, and reliable.

I almost went SOT, but got a premium soft top instead. Cheap side of me won out. It is nice to have 33/35’s fit without any mods or much hassle. I had to do a bunch of trimming and body mount chop on my old GX for the same 33” tires. And that 4:1 xfer case. Heaven-sent for crawling for us...

Nice. I’ve enjoyed my time in various Toyota’s, including a 100-series, numerous Taco’s and 4Runners. My favorite vehicle to date is my JLU Rubicon 6MT. Just had the clutch recall done. It’s all stock and what a hoot!

Tundra vs 5.9 Cummins - Help!

ANY new truck parked next to the 1st gen Tacoma is gonna look gargantuan! I was coming home from work the other day, and came up on a nice looking Tundra. It had a lift, meaty tires, and a tailgate with the word "Tacoma" stamped on it. :D

2018 Subaru Crosstreks have arrived (2018=all new)

I wouldn't think it would affect OB sales. It's a big size gap between the Crosstrek and OB. Perhaps the WRX

2018 Subaru Crosstreks have arrived (2018=all new)

On a recent trip. All highway (reset the MPG as soon as we were on the freeway), flat and 65 - 70mph. 2.5 CVT OB. Usually, it's around 32-33mpg. It was an anomaly. I also found the OBC to be quite accurate when I calculate the mpg manually.

2018 Subaru Crosstreks have arrived (2018=all new)

CVT has been excellent for me, as well. Only negative is the noise. It's louder/whinier than other transmissions. Not too bad, but noticeable. Pull up the high elevation mountain passes with the 4-banger---no issues at all, whereas with my previous cars, I'd have to shift from 6th to 5th to...

Tundra vs 5.9 Cummins - Help!

I bet with the 5.0 and 33's, you'd be at 18-19MPG on the freeway (at 70mph). My truck (with 33's) is at 21-22MPG, all freeway, at 70MPH. I was up in Wyoming a little while ago and on a 50 mile flattish section of the highway, no cars on the road (around 11PM), I was doing about 55mph and fuel...

Coil springs is definite part of the lower payload, along with the heavier diesel engine. As far as the ride, I couldn't tell much difference, BUT I was just test driving around the city, so off-road may be a bigger discernible difference. - Pros and cons on either platform, so you'll just have...

    Getting there in my Colorado

Cool. Nice idea. I've thought about a rack like that in the past, but always wondered about security. Seems like a great solution.
