Continuation of my previous trucks in one thread, starting with the current one (2023 Raptor)
Raptor build starts on PAGE 26
and it is here. Wow this thing is amazing.
First thing, the interior even in a loaded Raptor is a SERIOUS downgrade from the previous Limited, with the exception...
Jerry I think the answer as to when... You'll just know. They want to live. They'll tell you when it's time. Unfortunately, you'll know. All my absolute best. Give them a pat for me before it happens.
Awww Christ Jerry... Yukon’s situation has brought me to tears... my oldest pup is 11, (retriever) and while he’s full of piss and vinegar and going along at a pace like he’s 11 months *knock on wood*... I know it won’t last forever... heartbreaking to read about Yukon.
Well here we are, a year later. I cannot find anything that suits my needs, and am basically ready to buy a junk jayco baja with winter package or whatever they call them, or just give up and buy a cabin.
Hey guys,
Looking for recommendations for a TT suited to an overland style. I don’t want something tiny like a tear drop or 12’ converse cargo trailer, but I also don’t want a 40’ fifth wheel with 3 Jacuzzi tubs and it’s own guest house...
The trailer will be for a base camp to go riding...
10k miles is pretty long intervals for a fleet truck towing all the time. That would be typical for a weekend warrior that drives the truck unloaded on the highway 90% of the time. Most of the fleet guys I talk to run 10,000km (6000 miles) intervals when they're being used to tow all the time.
F150's are fairly capable from the factory, especially if it is equipped with a locking rear diff (as yours is with the FX4) throw a level kit on it to start, remove the front airdam, and put some 35" tires on it, you will be able to go just about anywhere you want. I've put probably 50k miles...
They're not bad, they're just not as good as a few other tires. I suspect most people would like them, but my truck is in 4WD pretty much from Nov-March with all the snow we get, and during break up and fall freeze the roads turn into feet of clay mud nastiness.
I ran the AT3W's for about 25,000 and pulled them off, going back to KO2's. The falkens are a tough tire that wear like Iron, but they're mediocre at best in deep snow and mud, and terrible on ice (I live in Northern Canada). If I lived south, i'd have the Falkens for sure.
