    OBS F250 slow adventure build

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I miss my pup and can't help but think he is still going to greet me when I come home. We have to wait a little bit before we can get another dog, but I am finding it hard to do that right now! I had to do some work on the trailer and truck this week. The...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

One of the best parts about the trailer deal is that it came with two free sets of 16.5" wheels so I could finally get my full size spare mounted up! It took the guys at Les Schwab 5 hours to seat the bead but they finally prevailed. I also go the drop hitch made, new safety chains, new 7...

    Our Dual-Sport GMC Sierra

The truck is looking good. It sounds like you are getting your spring rates dialed in like you want. Keep those stiff springs incase you end up with a 6bt swap. Based on your requirements that is probably the only option, I love my 7.3 powerstroke but it would probably be an invitation to be...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

I picked up a 16' car trailer today. It needs a little work to beef it up and make it wide enough to fit a full size truck on it but it was cheap and is a good starting point. First thing I need to do is fix the safety chains and make a super drop hitch for it. Then comes some better ramps and...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

Sounds like a great find. At 86k miles it isn't even broken in yet! I'm glad I could help give you some ideas, that was my primary reason for starting this thread. I wanted to be able to provide some information that was hard to come by for OBS owners out there. I love my truck more and more as...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

I headed up to Mt. Pilchuck with the kids today to do some wheeling and had my 8 year old son take some video for me. I figured out I need lockers something fierce! The truck did really well, but several of the chutes had large prominent rocks at the top that kept me from making it all the way...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

Thanks man! I am pretty happy with the suspensions ability to withstand damage. When I first finished it I was driving around super cautious and a little bit afraid it might fall apart on me even though I am confident in my work and have a good idea of what I am doing. There was always that...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

I have gotten all the important parts fixed and back to functional. The only stuff left is the fender, door, and whatever else might have gotten damaged behind them. Overall it was not that bad considering the force and type of impact. The two worst items were the upper ball joint and the tie...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

Sounds like the perfect combo of fun! We will defininetly need to coordinate a camping adventure out there this summer. I have never gotten a chance to explore over on that side of the sound so it would be fun to find some new areas to go. The first thing I was thinking after he hit me was, "why...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

I had some bad luck this week, I got t-boned at lunch on Tuesday. The good news is that the other truck got it far worse than mine. The Chevy luv that hit me was driven by a crackpot with a suspended license and no insurance since 2009. His truck was wasted! At first it looked like he barely...

I would not worry about a CV joint for the rear. I say go for it on the local shop for $450.

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

I had a chance test the towing ability of he truck this weekend. One of my little brothers has been looking for a first vehicle for a bit now and we came across a nice little 1990 ranger 4x4. It was listed as not running and needed to be towed so we rented a trailer and headed down to Gig Harbor...

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

What about converting your rear shaft to a one piece? I have seen lots of full size guys do that. I personally prefer a two piece for clearance reasons but a single piece shaft is lighter and usually less prone to vibrations.

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

$329 shipped to my door four days after I placed the order. They specialize in 4x4 shafts so they know what they are doing. Highly reccomended.

    1984 Dodge W350 Crew Cab

I just had Tom Woods make my front CV shaft for my truck. They were a great price and very helpful/fast service. Give them a call and tell them what you are doing and they can help you decide what joints to use and even give you a quote over the phone.

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

Here is the link that I disconnected to get the front axle to move more freely. I left the axle side together and just let the link float free. It didn't hit anything or cause any issues even fully articulating the truck on a ramp. I put the bolt back into the bracket and tightened it so...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

Spoken like a true desert man! I finally got a chance to unbolt the passenger side upper link from the radius arm to see how much it helped the truck flex. Turns out it makes a bit difference! I can definitely feel the truck move more freely but it is still perfectly drive-able on the street. I...
