    OBS F250 slow adventure build

Here is a short video of the first real 4x4 action the truck has seen since the swap. I had to stop and get out to check my line a bunch since I didn't have a spotter.

Nope, the only traction aiding device is the factory rear LSD and that thing is useless at this point. I would love front and rear air lockers, but I think that one of the best ways to keep traction is to have enough articulation to keep all fours firmly planted on terraferma. That's going to...

    1996 Ford F-250 Supercab Build

Looks good. Glad to see you are out using it already! We will pick up our RTT in about a month and I can't wait to get out and use it.

Thanks guys! Seanpistol; this thing is awesome! I have been looking on CL to see where OBS powerstrokes are at and man people want an arm and a leg for them these days. Anything in half decent condition is $7k min, there are several over $9k. I went on a trail ride with a local group today and...

4x4 at last! I finally got a front drive shaft in today. I ended up ordering a custom Tom Woods 1330 CV shaft. Based on their reputation I figured I couldn't go wrong, didn't hurt that they were the cheapest and fastest as well! Drivlines NW quoted me over $500 and said it would take a week...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

I ordered a font driveshaft today. I ended up going with Tom Woods driveshafts due to their price, customer service, and super fast turnaround. I got quotes as high as $500 and three weeks lead time from other compenies, so when they told me $329 shipped to my door in three days I was sold! I am...

    Rig weight

Update. I dropped some more scrap off at the junk yard today. With me in the truck, my recovery box and 3/4 tank of fuel in the front tank 6900lbs. I'm 160 so just the truck is only 6740lbs. Not bad for big heavy military take offs and my rear bumper of doom.

I got a chance to test my theory about converting the front coilovers from dual rate to single rate by lowering the stops. I set it up at first so that the single rate stops we so high that they were not functioning at all. My dual rate is 210# and my bottom springs are 400# so I effectively...

    Our Dual-Sport GMC Sierra

Depending on where you got the springs from you might be able to exchange them for different rates as long as they look close to new. Most places have a spring exchange program since it is basically an educated guess in the first place. I am running 14" 400s and 12"450s on mine. It would help to...

    Our Dual-Sport GMC Sierra

Do you have your 650s on the top or bottom? The best setup is to run the short firm rate up top and the long soft rate on bottom. The reason for this is because in dual rate your actual spring rate is 265lbs. By R unning your 650s on the bottom you are changing from a 265 rate to 650 rate once...

    Our Dual-Sport GMC Sierra

Looks like it flexes well even with the stiff springs. Mine will not max out the shock travel when I drive the front up on a ramp, only when I back up. I'm only 4x2 right now so the rear looses traction when the font tire is 24" in the air. I love the MTRs in pretty much every situation. They...

    Our Dual-Sport GMC Sierra

Looks good. How were the BFGs in that slick mud? I was really debating between them and the goodyears when I got my military take offs. It also looks like your upper coils are almost fully compressed at normal ride height. Did you ever go with softer coils or are those the same ones you started...

    GAS VS DIESEL

I think it depends on how old of a truck you are willing to buy. With diesel anything newer than about 2003 is way too much of a pain IMO due to all the emissions garbage. I love my '96 7.3 powerstroke, it has been great and only needed oil and fuel filters in the 25k I have had it. I also get...

    Liberty, My 97 F250 CCSB

Awesome news! I did something different with my EBPV. Instead of disconnecting it I wired it to a switch in my cab so I could turn it on and off whenever I want. It is really nice being able to start the truck up and flip the switch and let it warm up faster than just idling. It would work even...

Thanks Bobby, I understand that things happen. I certainly didn't put as much effort as I could have into making sure that you guys would be there as I should have. I called CVT yesterday and got through first try. Bobby was great and answered all my questions, including the dimension between...

    The Sooper Camper F350

Have you noticed any more axle wrap with the shackle flip? I get a little when starting in 2nd (which I do 90% of the time) but only if I give it too much go pedal right away. Looks good as always! Your motto should be "Mod smarter not harder"!

I have been looking at the two manufacturers as well and as best as I can tell they are basically the same tents. The Tepui Grand Sabana and the CVT MT. Rainier are almost identical in looks and dimensions. I was pretty set on CVT mostly because they have the largest tent by far with the MT...

    OBS F250 slow adventure build

Just rolled over 250,000 miles The truck got some much needed love last night with an oil change and fuel filter change. Then on the way to work the truck rolled over 250K. I picked it up with 223k on it and it has been great the whole time, just some basic maintenance and a little tweaking in...
