I'll be honest- the Recruit pisses me off. When AEV came out with the first Sema concept I was ready to hand over my money to mod my truck. Then when they do release the products they leave out us older suspension folks. I love my "Raised Air intake" and wheels, but I feel like offering a 1/2...
I've always wanted a two door Rubicon to go with my Power Wagon, but at 6'8'' I just don't fit. Maybe a slightly longer two door would give me the leg room I need.
My daily driver is the definition of overkill- a 3/4 ton gas pickup truck with lockers. That being said, I'd rather have too much truck than not enough. I'd suggest even looking at the Super Duty with the 6.2L Gas V-8 as it might be a good compromise for you.
I bought my 2012 Power Wagon from Dennis Dillon and it was the first time buying a vehicle without the normal stress and bs you normally get. I live about 600 miles away so I drove my trade down on Saturday and came home Sunday. I saved $3,000 over the local guy and about $2,000 over Dave Smith...
I'm with Ducky- a 3rd Gen Power Wagon would be a great vehicle for you. I love my 2012 Power Wagon, but I'll agree the 3rd gens are going to be more nimble and have better visibility than my 4th gen Wagon. Think of it as the Jeep Rubicon's big brother.
To this day I still miss my 1988 full size Ford Bronco. I bought it used in high school with 98,000 miles and it was love at first drive. Other than the stupid tailgate rust issue, it was damn near flawless. The big captain chair seats in the front were awesome, and it was big enough to be...
This is why I think the ecodiesel is a great setup for somebody who drives a lot and needs a truck. With that said, there's some places a 1500 Ram won't go that my fairly stock Power Wagon does. I haven't needed my lockers much, but when I do they are worth their weight in gold. Plus I only...
I'm on my second HD Hemi, and I love them. The first was a 2004 and now I have a 2012 Power Wagon. I'll be the first to admit the Hemi will never pull like the CTD, but if you're looking for a quality daily driver that can work when you need it, the Hemi is worth a look.
I'm a Dodge/Ram guy. I can't speak on the Cummins because I've never had one, but I am on my second HD Hemi and I've had very few issues. On my 2004 HD Hemi I had the water pump and ball joints replaced at around 40,000 miles under the factory warranty, but no other issues. My 2012 Power Wagon...
The biggest complaint I have is that there isn't a lift offered by AEV for my 2012 Power Wagon. I really like my Salta HD Wheels and my Raised Air Intake, and the customer support from the Missoula office has been awesome. The only reason I haven't purchased the bumper is I would want to do it...
I've always liked the Brute, but the price tag was always way too much to swallow. I think this is going to be a great option for those who want a Jeep truck but don't need the Hemi upgrades. I just hope they eventually put the ecodiesel in the new Wrangler truck.
From what I understand the Raised Air Intake/Snorkel only works for the 2013 CTD's with the "Active Air" and has not been tested with out that setup. Essentially the newer CTD's have an opening behind the grill with a flapper system that opens up when the truck is towing heavy loads. I attached...
I've been really happy with the Vision X light bar's I have behind the grill on my truck.
Edit- I just saw the title said "round lights." I'm guessing this post won't be all that helpful. Sorry.
