MrWhite's Tacoma Flippac Adventure Rig - pic heavy

The sliders look great. Bolt on from relentless seems like it may stick out too far from my liking. It is tough to find good pictures from the top down angle.

MrWhite's Tacoma Flippac Adventure Rig - pic heavy

No major complaints about gearing with the tires for now? I'm planning on running 255s and keep imagining that it will be horribly undergeared and I will be locking out overdrive. Gears/lockers were in the early plans but now they will likely be next year... Great looking setup by the way...

    2012 Wrangler cylinder head failure

Maybe true if I lived in a place where they salt relentlessly, but not here. ;)

Battleship Jones: 2015 Tacoma DCLB Build Thread

Some people just cut the last bit of exhaust before the tire. Another option if you're worried about heat is a heat shield or wrap. There are a ton of different products on the market...

    2012 Wrangler cylinder head failure

Boy I wonder why so many of us here sold our 2012+ JKs and bought Toyotas? ;) Sorry to hear of your trouble. My 2012 was my first and last jeep/Chrysler/dodge vehicle. Warranty fixes on the transmission and transfer case right off the bat, tons of money fixing stupid weak engineering...

Battleship Jones: 2015 Tacoma DCLB Build Thread

Looks good to me! Though I'd push the tire back into the hitch if possible to prevent the axle from contacting during compression.

Building on a full size, any regrets?

I don't think I can add a whole lot to what's been said, but echo the point that it simply depends on what you want to do or where you want to go. In most of the country, including the desert and southwest, full size isn't much of an issue. However there are a lot of tight, wooded and...

    Why are water tanks horziontal?

Yes a baffle would be helpful but I wouldn't put foam in there. You're just giving so much more surface for bacteria and gunk to hide and grow. I think water would pass right through a screen, but a thin solid piece of plastic or something might have some effect? I've never found sloshing...

How to get roof top tent onto roof rack?

Didn't see your post on page 2 about wanting to do it frequently. It is reasonable to store it on a rack that is the height of the roof rack and slide it over?

How to get roof top tent onto roof rack?

It's not that heavy, grab someone walking by. Or a friend or neighbor etc.

    Long-term in a Flippac

Wipes and solar shower, myself. Or more often than not I find clean water to get into. Works great around the Pacific Northwest, less so in Utah/Arizona etc.

We have a New FWC Dealer in Salt Lake City, UT (and a trade show this weekend too)

Nice! Are you guys doing anything different to ramp up production? I was told 14 weeks when I ordered mine a week ago.

    Flippac torsion bar

Actually John at Ursa Minor sells the fiberglass mold to adventure trailers. They fit the tent and the rest as I understand. I believe several people have asked John about doing truck campers, but I know he is very busy. He may be a resource if you're looking for such a project.

AEV Salta Wheels are now available!!

I wouldn't buy wheels from those liars again. I bought pintlers a few years back. They claimed them to be hub centric and made it a major selling point. Later on I was rotating tires in my garage and noticed that they were definitely NOT hub centric, and possible explaining the random...

Next Gen Wrangler to Get 3.0L EcoDiesel and 8-speed Auto

Yeah the new VW engines make better power and are more fun to drive. However after talking to many people who have removed their dpf and run a high flow exhaust setup, economy (and power) number just up quite significantly. A little 45mpg four cylinder certainly doesn't make much soot and...

    Long-term in a Flippac

I don't have a flip pac, but used my jeep and Ursa minor popup which I think is similar (though much smaller). In my honest opinion, if you do 3-4 days comfortable you can do it for weeks, or months. After several shorter trips, I spent 4-5 weeks out in my jeep/j30. And my wife was with...

Getting closer to pulling the trigger, have a few questions.

I don't have a camper yet but will. I do have a 3 car garage (one single and one tandem side). If I can clear enough junk, I'd be able to unload the camper in the back of the tandem side. I have entertained the idea of a cheap folding flatbed trailer (think harbor freight) and a sturdy...

Show us your Toyota 4runner, tacoma or truck.

I 100% agree. But I just bought a big new house. Just put a $3500 deposit on something else. Just bought a new truck, having a supercharger installed right now etc. Hoping to get some extra work this month so I don't have to play around with a sort of temp setup or put mods on a credit card...
