Econoline slider door area seat belt mount location

The only mid / 2nd row seats I’ve seen in the old E vans were lap belts or modern seats with shoulder belt incorporated into the seat its self. No belts led to outer walls etc.

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

Same here which is why my trailer was never more than 1500 lbs lol

Welding camper brackets to truck frame?

Skip welding just bolt on some plates. If your welding the ends of a frame no biggie but mid line at the bed/cab heating the frame up might be bad news later especially with a heavy load being planned.

Need help troubleshooting CTek d250sa that's not charging, no lights come on

Many of these units are closed loop. You add a ground and they go into protect mode or fry. Get rid of the ground, neg to the battery. I bet it works fine after that. Most solar controllers are the same way.

2004 Toyota Sequoia - Building a Family Snow Cruiser

My factory bumper was easily fixed by a local body shop twice. Once from someone backing into it and once after I clipped some road debri on the highway. The shop welded the abs and repainted $600. I looked into a built one we had a guy about 3 hours away building beautiful bumpers for Tundras...

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

Its been surprisingly decent in city use thanks to the 360 camera and tight turning radius

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

My 2019 heavy tow package 3.73 rear end 4x4 platinum Expedition is stickered at 1465lbs. Its considerably as in exponentially more load capable than a 4 runner and hands down way way way more load capable than my J80.

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

The LC’s that get heavy service use aren’t stock city LCs the J80 in Africa is rare its looked at as the Camry of LCs here the J80 is viewed as the last real J80 lol. My old Subaru had a 940lb useful load rating the new one is over 1000. The 4runners are no where near 1500lbs lol. My J80 wasn’t...

    Bug out challenge

Lots of lake sailing out your way. Nose around. Smaller boats but you might find a crew spot. Most owners have 2/3 people per position to call on not everyone can sail every event.

    Bug out challenge

Yep each region has a pickup crew site. List your “realistic” skills and availability. Best to start out on low key week day beer can events. Short low key and you can spy the boats you don’t want to sail on before you get stuck on a longer race and think it was a bad call.

Why are other full size SUV's not used in overlanding/offroading as often as Forerunner/Landcruiser?

Most people doing real time on the road exploring are never noticed and that’s intentional. During my long one location 9 day stay in West Yellowstone our neighbors were typically different every night. Several were folks who do 3-5months a yr all of those people had setups that were “not”...

    My Journey

Geeze Jerry glad you two are ok. People forget that pits were designed by man for capability. Its not the dogs fault they were bred to have killer capability. However most people who have them never consider the liability they have having a pit. My brother was at a major home supply warehouse...

EPA Diesel Engine “Delete Tuning” Crackdown...Is It Here Now?

It doesn’t really matter what you think. There are millions of people living in locations that deal with serious air quality issues that do impact daily life. The delete crowd is small yet impact a large number of people plus its illegal no arguing that. Is there a problem with the durability...

    Bug out challenge

Lots of people start out thinking that way. You can be somewhat self sufficient but that translates to about 40ft for two people. And it takes about a yr full timing it before you get a somewhat effective system figured out. Fresh vegetables and fruit are a challenge. My boat is a big 28footer...

    Bug out challenge

No need to retire. Just find your local racing club and stick your thumb out. By the time you retire you’ll know how to sail and what boats not to buy. Its not for everyone thats for sure

    Bug out challenge

Kids club sporting events were just called by the National level orgs. The good news is we can go camping or go sailing now without other stuff competing for the same time slots.

    Dually to SRW ...whatcha think

Weight on the drive tires is huge something these rv vans don’t lack. The only big neg is rocks caught between the tires and destroying a tire/s. Empty Pickups especially duel tire ones are horrendous given they float and have zero weight which case same truck on singles will be slightly better...

    Next Gen Land Cruiser

To be fair the FJ hardly fit a Jogging stroller in the back and the rear seat access was complete crap. I knew several dads who had to dump it for a vehicle that could actually fit kids. Most got a 4dr wrangler.
