I’m working on a setup using the side-exit Blue Sea clam on a vertical surface of my trailer. The cable will exit toward the bottom with a 6” pigtail and a booted SB50 connector. Then a nice clip to keep it from bouncing around when not in use.
I don’t usually carry the spare tire, since my truck has the exact same tire/wheel setup. Do you think locker vents will let road spray in if I install in the doors?
That has been my experience, as I mentioned further up. So I now have 200W of permanent solar panels on the roof, plus another 200W of deployable panels in case I need them. If that fails, I will be bulk charging via booster cables from my vehicle to the battery bank directly.
The trickle from...
You can't really charge a house bank from a tow vehicle using standard wiring. The angry pixies can't get from A to B. But you can generally maintain the trailer fridge while driving without depleting the trailer bank.

Yeah, I realized that post-install. So now I need a third panel to cover up my error. [emoji849]
I actually put them rearward thinking that they would be better protected from branches.
I have 200W (2x100W Renogy) of rigid panels on mine, with room for a third. Love it:
I think it makes the roof a touch heavy, so I may decide to upgrade the struts.

It seems dependant on being setup carefully: if water pools at the seam, it starts to slowly drip through. I'll need a few more rainstorms to really get a feel for that.
It's enormous, though. Love the coverage.
