For 2012s the sub was a built in panel. If you removed it you had to order a replacement panel, looked like the driver's side except the other side. It was an add on that I think came with the leather package/premium sound.

This guy did a 4 wheel camper on Tacoma and was in a similar situation to you family wise.
4wheel campers:We build campers for most every size truck on the market today. It...
Payload capacity appears to be in the 1150 range for Tacomas and plenty of people run around with Tacomas with a 4wheel camper on it. Diesel Colorado appears to be about 1500 lbs so as long as you are paying attention to the weight of the camper + occupants don't see an issue.
I don't have a rtt but I have been wondering if this https://top-off.biz/product/topoff-jk74/ in reverse would work? I.e. mount rtt to bars (instead of jeep top) position vehicle underneath, lower and then attach bars to roof rails somehow..
I have one installed. Only took a couple of pictures and the ones in the videos or instructions are better. It is in a 2012 jeep wrangler.

I lived in central Florida for 3 years with a ursa minor top and I never had any issues with mold, condensation or humidity. Fans were the big helper, I used battery powered mostly but I was only doing weekend camping.

I have a Mile Marker SEC8 winch with wireless remote. I bought it here on expo about a year ago and have not used it other than to test it initially in my garage, previous owner said "Barely used Mile Marker SEC8 8,000lb winch in multi-mount cradle with wireless and wired remote." It is in a...
I have left sleeping bags up there for short periods of time. It will tighten up the space/may require some extra pressure to get the top to latch in the back.
