But how much vehicle prep did you do before you went? What condition was the truck you took in? What was the trucks history before you bought it? How heavy was the truck, over or at GVW? Did you prepare the truck yourself before you left or pay somebody to do it?
All are important and play...
x2!!
I found almost all of CR to be like this. The only place I found not be so lame was on the Osa Peninsula.
IMHO, this is the evolution of a country when gringos come in and take over which has been going on for a long time in CR. Also imho, CR is the most beautiful country in CA, however...
I agree with most of that. Take a manual with you, it can be helpful if you need to point at the parts you need, pictures. :)
If your average trip down the Pan-Am is 25,000 miles. You really shouldn't need to do much in the way of repairs while on the road. Of course things happen but if the...
Mine, no sir!!
I saw a picture in your other thread of the knuckle and though to myself, that doesn't look good! Good on ya for tearing it down and getting it in order. The truck thanks you I am sure.
Cheers
Ya that is right, 3 Chevies. They are older though, newest being 2001. I have had one for 15yrs, the 2001 since new and added another in 2008. So I can't comment on a new Chevy but I would buy a new Chevy full sized truck. My three work trucks have been very faithful. The 2001 has the LQ4 6L and...
I met Marv around 10yrs ago when I was down visiting family in LA. We had exchanged a few emails and phone calls and he told me if you are ever in my neck of the woods drop on by. So I did, twice a few years apart.
When I showed up Marv put down everything he was doing to spend several hours...
I have seen them with coolers all the way back in the 3rd row seating. Side compartment for the 3rd row I rode in once in Colombia had a cooler back there.
To me, age has nothing to do with the value of the truck. Some newer vehicles to me are not worth $100 while some old school ones are...
Hmmnnn, well I have some Nissans (old Patrols) but none are my DD.
I know it is supposed to be non-Nissan but for me a 2000-2008 Patrol. It is a non-USA truck so hope that counts! TD42T diesel, 5spd, not white otherwise I don't care how it is outfitted. Just gimmie one to start with as a...
The owner selected this for hard brake and fuel lines....
http://www.agscompany.com/faq/10
Originally they would have just been galvi coated. Nissan also put a rubber sleeve over all the hard lines.
I offered up to the owner;
-galvi, possibly with rubber sleeve
-stainless steel...
Waypoints are definitely cool. IRIS looks a bit more expensive though but thanks for the link, I will check into it.
When looking at the Phantom last night I saw many upgrades for it. I really like the glasses you can get so you see what the camera sees. I would imagine that vastly improves...
Bought my Low Range Off-Road locker kits last night. So in a couple weeks here is what I have planned.
-Wire up lockers and install LROR kits.
-Remove drop brackets on radius arms and cut & turn front axle
-Install Metal Tech 2" spacers in front
-Figure out if I need to deal with my front...
I exchanged a few emails with the guy. Seems it may have sold today. I put a link in the for sale section so who knows, maybe somebody here on ExPo bought it!
For me, RHD is a downer. I have owned several RHD trucks and while not a big deal to drive, if spending coin north of $10k, it has got...
It does look to be in amazing condition.
Very sweet truck. Another $5k though before I would really enjoy it. Wheels, tires, lift, front locker, turbo...geez maybe more than $5k!
$20k is super steep price but it is mint. And for that kind of coin, me personally I would want left hand drive...
By the way.....
here is something extremely rare. This is the only one of these I have ever seen or owned. This was in a 1966 Patrol I got from the original owner over 10yrs ago. I got the truck when he passed away. It had 40k original miles and the owner had kept a very detailed file on the...
Thanks!
That is a nice truck. I don't want to import anymore though, Homeland Security has made it very expensive. Plus, owning a GQ/Y60 Patrol means parts are hard to come by in the USA and expensive. Some day maybe I will be lucky enough to own a Y60/61 Patrol with a TD42 but not anytime...
brand new water protect dizzy, very hard to find in new condition.
brand new fuel pump, not nearly as hard to find as the dizzy
making progress.....
Test fitting the PTO box, just need some more bolts to finish it.
