In my opinion the reason the Rover community is anti-cone goes back about 15 years. At that time we did not have the shock availability that we have today and the cone was a jagged piece of metal.
If you had this set up on your truck and needed to use the cones this is what happened.
As the...
Take it for what it is worth
Springs
Compression springs are made to function in "compression", not "extension".
They are coiled in a particular way so that they will "resist" compression in either a Linear, or Progressive manner.
The purpose of the spring is to resist the sprung mass of...
There's always a lot of questions when you talk about the center diff lock. Especially on the discovery 2. To make matters worse there is a lot of crazy information on the web. I hope this quick video will help clear up some of the confusion and miss-information. Enjoy...
Project update
The new Terrafirma Disco2 fender flares came in and we did a quick mockup to see if they're going to work.
You can see from this picture we are getting a serious amount of rub.
Once the flares are installed I think we'll have plenty of room.
Unfortunately we're going...
I would like to elaborate a little bit more on this. The J Rods are a nice and you cant beet the price but in my opinion with a tool like this on the market they are becoming a bit of a false economy.
The main reason everybody puts on the rods is the lift their truck to fit larger tires. The...
Big Erik has been running them in his truck for over a year now without any issue and more importantly I have not had a warranty or complaint from any sets we have sold
Project update
With the sliders installed we played around with them a bit. Heres a quick review.
For the most part the install went quite well for these 3 bolts
But this one below was a little bit of a challenge. You needed to be spot on when drilling the hole.
As you can see in this...
Erik and I bust balls, drink some Sam Adams Winter Lager and take a look at Tom Woods shaft. Enjoy

Quick and dirty.
The goal is to make some quick videos for people to see what's involved. Then they can decide if they want to tackle it. Unfortunately we do not have the time or the resources to do step-by-step instructions.
We should have them soon. Just waiting on the shocks.
It rides nice, it is firm but not harsh. The pro sport shocks do a good job absorbing the bumps
That looks like the override included in the kit.
No it does not
This kit does

I am putting a 6.2L HMMVW engine into the Rover and need stiff springs to help with the extra weight. I want to run the largest tire I can with a 3" lift to help keep RPM's lower. Vehicle will be driven on road...
As these trucks get older we get more and more requests for compressors. The next question after the order is always, how hard is the instal? If you find yourself in this situation here's a quick run through of what you need to do in order to get your truck back up on its feet...
You got a lot of open-ended questions here. As I always say let's start the start, what size tires do you want to run. I have been running the terrafirma kit on our truck and have been very happy with it. But you could achieve the same kind a lift with OME springs and use terrafirma shocks.
The...
