As he said, a CV joint wont work for a compound angle. My axle is shimmed. Pinion sits level as does the output on the TC. The issue is the somewhat severe compound angle. I'm honestly not 'super' worried about it, but these operating angles will reduce U joint life. I suppose given the amount...

It'll be a while. She's back in storage since I got home from the camping trip. Can't knock on wood grain for another week or two until I get a chance to drive it again. :-/

Nahhhhh. I'm probably only liking it and wanting to drive it because I only have one trip under my belt since it has been fixed...and that trip was a success. It hasn't been on the road long enough for things to go wrong yet haha.

I have a centered output on my t-case, and i have the furthest offset diff that was available (q-trac NT wagoneer). Combine that with a 4" life, and you get a fantastic compound angle. This is whats wrong with my driveline angle:

Ha. So at this point, I have had my hands in every part of the truck. Motor was replaced with updated ignition, fuel system completely revamped (including carb), done a bunch of rewiring (there's always more to do), suspension checked and updated, transmission rebuilt, t-case checked and...

A few more things for ya. These are just suggestions, and if you wanna tell me to shove off and mind my own business, or ignore them completely, feel free haha. Just wanted to share some experience with you. Since you have the carpet and the mat out, have you considered doing something to keep...

I know I'm a little late to the party, but on the T-Case info, I've got a bit of experience. You 'SHOULD' be fine running a D20 with your stock offset axle if you decide to go that route.I would not go with a D18. Too noisy, and they have weak links, especially on a big heavy truck like this...

What do you mean what is the deal with my grill? It's not very odd or unusual considering it was on every wag from 1970-1973 haha. So, the combination of parts would be from the factory.

Well, the truck had been down and out for 5 months. For a month or two prior to that, I had no 4wd capability and a few other things were just mickey moused together so I wasn't using it. I believe the last real trip I made was out to Valley of Fire, on New Years. Could be wrong though. So, I...

No, i was running 4" lift shocks before. When I moved the shock mounts up a few inches they only had like 1.5" of uptravel, haha. Now these have something like 4" up and 4" down or something, I dont remmeber. I just know that was the part number I wrote down based on the measurements I did a...

After 5 months of trying, I threw in the towel. Finally back on all fours, moving and STOPPING under her own power. 2 or 3 things left to wrap up on the axle swap from hell, but plans are to go camping this weekend.

4" lift. While I do have a lift, my shock mounts are moved up a few inches, This basically put it back to stock shock length. I'm running Monroe Part #58567. $65 for the pair on amazon. That works!
