Maybe it has already been discussed?
Do you really travel with your kids in the back of the truck!? Not only is that illegal these days (not that I care about that) it is pretty unsafe. I don't see a roll bar in your truck, in particular in the bed. That fiberglass top is going to crush like a...
The comments about the body moving or flexing is correct. But on my 1st gen (04) Taco the ARB bar had serious vibrations. You could walk up to the bar, ********** it with your hand and it would vibrate or shake. That is not normal. The "end cap mod" is what is required to fix this issue. Front frame...
You need to buy a pressure washer man! Can't believe you been into trucks all these years and don't own a pressure washer! I bought one right after the Patrol got finished! ;)
I totally agree with this. I would look to Central America. Much more buying power down there. And LHD of course.
Last June I slapped down a chunk of change on the Aussie side. Then when the truck got here I was required to slap down another fat chunk of change.
To give you an idea of the...
Bro, I just need to buy a sub-zero bag and be done with it. I won't care if it is cold after that! :)
And I slept just fine in the tent. Hammock in cold weather and you need good gear or the tropics!
Cheers
I froze my ******** off friday night! It was supposed to be warm down there (why I went!) so I only took light cold weather gear. Friday night in the hammock was one of the coldest nights I have ever had camping! I had to pull my dog into the hammock to help keep me warm. I don't think I got any...
That looks interesting! I think I would want a recliner but but none the less I need to sit in those!
If I don't talk to you before, have fun in Utah!! I will ring ya next time I am over.
Cheers
I didn't know you needed me to check it out! I will msg you on FB.
Cheers
BTW, I am a touch hesitant to give out the dudes name and info for the v8s. Reason being is they are in limited supply and I may want one! Ha! Just search Pirate4x4 for turn key v8s. ;)
Not really. There is a guy who is selling 4.8, 5.3 & 6.0 v8s with a 3-wire hook up. That is right, 3-wires to hook it up and make it run in whatever truck you want or have. These are used motors and at a good price too. All crate motors are pretty expensive.
The 4.7 is a good motor but I see...
I think if you have a good 3F and can use it by all means do it. But I wouldn't spend much money on the engine. Unless you want a restored truck, to me it just isn't worth the effort or dollars to put into a 3F. It is simple and easy to work on and fairly reliable but it is also a total dog...
7.50x16s are hard to get. They are also very skinny. It is an old school tire size and as such is also only 7.50 wide. There is a picture of the tires we are using as well as info on that earlier in the thread.
No idea if they are similar to a 235 85R16 but I don't think so. I am to lazy to...
You did miss it but no worries!
They are 8.5x16 Swiss military tires. I have had them for years, I just use them as rollers. So they are about a 33" tire. We will be running a 7.5x16 which is a 31" tire.

So I have been hard at work on assembling the chassis. Nearly all the leaf spring hardware had to be customized and the u-bolts still need to be cut down. All the greasable pins have been trimmed down to a tolerable length and drilled for a cotter pin. The sleeves for the bushings have also been...
x2 and perfect advice from Darrell. If the spring/check is gone it is done, the greaseable pin is done. Not like it costs much to replace the zirk!
Cheers
