I love BFG ATs. They are great on and off road. I can usually get 50k miles out of them, sometimes 60k. Yes, they are a little more expensive, but well worth it. Check the weights of tires too if you are worried about gas mileage. For a AT tire the BFG is on the light side and wont effect...
Id love to lift it, but I travel too much and need the mileage, plus all the parking garages are 6'8" and the van sits at 6'7" right now. I did some offroading this weekend and had the van in some deep water and mud. It did fine until I almost ripped off the front air dam.
I did another trip. We did about 1800 miles to Vancouver and back. I got 20mpg on one tank, 19.5mpg on one tank, 19 mpg on one tank and 18.7mpg on another. This was ALL hwy. I used my GPS as the odometer is off about 2-3mph. It doesnt get any more accurate. I did drive 65-75mph most of the...
I just noticed changing the keys helped a ton on my Chevy pickup. I had the stock keys cranked and it rode like crap. I put the different keys on and cranked the truck to the same height and it rode waaay better.
Its my daughters Gromhit. It has 24" wheels and 5" of travel. The other Specialized bike is my wife's SX TRail.
It rides like a buckboard because the torsion keys are bottomed out. Get some Rough Country keys for a Chevy pickup and it will ride almost like stock.
Wheels and tires are on. I went with BFG ATs and 17" Gunners. No lift. :(
Bike rack almost done. The bins work great to pack stuff in. Still need doors, so we can sleep on top of the rack when the bikes are not in. The plan is two doors that open in the middle and rest against the sides...
I want an awning for my 06 Chevy Express AWD. Is the Fiamma the best one available in the states? I have the big sliding door also. Is there a kit for this van? Any pics of awnings?
Its a 2008 Specialized Gromhit. Specialized had a clearance sale this summer on all the remaing stock. Between me and my buddies, we bought 3 for our kids. They retailed for $1650, but they were on sale for $800.
She is really talented for being 7. Here is a pic on the climbing wall. She...
Just got back from a week in Silver Star and Whistler. We had a blast.
Me at Silver Star
My 7 yo daughter at Whistler
Wife at Silver Star on her first wall ride.
I have heard the Rough Country leveling kit will work. The kit comes with new keys for the front and a 1" block for the rear. I might give it a shot. The only thing is the van is 6'7" tall and parking garages are 6'8". ;)
I plan on a 2" bodylift and then Ill just put in a different torsion bar key and a rear block.
I did a 500 mile road trip today and I got 19 mpg on the first tank and 20 mpg on the second tank. I sure am going to miss this great gas mileage when I go to 33s.
When I Dynamated my bronco, I used 5 rolls. I just put each entire roll on the floor. I didnt cut it up like you are. That thing was super quiet. It was a little overkill and expensive.
I just bought a 2006 Chevy AWD Express van. Id like to lift it a little to fit 33" tires under it. I cant find a lift. Is there a truck lift that will work? What about a 2" body lift and just torsion up the front and a block in the rear? Ideas? Im new to the site and hope to have this van...
