I give you a thumbs-up too, for simple common sense.

How to move heavy picnic table with 1 person?

The question remains, with all due seriousness, WHERE SHOULD THE TABLES BE PLACED? Drive around any campground and you will see tables in the middle of the site, on one side, on the other side, at the back of the site, up front by the fireplace, in the shade, in the sun, and everywhere else you...

Camp Tables - What are you using?

Do the X braces prevent you from putting your legs under the table?

How to move heavy picnic table with 1 person?

Dear Sir, Following notification that there was a question about the placement of picnic tables in campgrounds, the National Park Service has appointed me to decide exactly where to place picnic tables and then to bolt them solidly to a concrete pad. I'm told you're an expert on this topic. Can...

    Funny MegaMat Pad Failure

One thing that I think can cause this is exposing an inflatable to extreme heat, like leaving a mattress in a closed car in the summer sun. I've slept (literally) hundreds of nights on Exped mattresses with never the slightest failure. My REI Camp Bed delaminated the day I received it---same...

I dunno. Are you sure a horse would be up to the task of moving a LARGE picnic table?

How to move heavy picnic table with 1 person?

Shade, I did indeed read that whole camping table thread and found a table I like, and found it on sale. Thanks very much for the link to that thread! You're correct about my intentions: my hope is to continue camping as long as I possibly can even as I lose certain abilities. I was sitting here...

How to move heavy picnic table with 1 person?

Well, I would think the explanation would be obvious, but since it's not: (1) 35 years ago I was . . . 35 years younger. (2) 35 years ago I camped with spouse. No longer the case. Could happen to you some day, for a variety of reasons. Nothing I've said should lead anyone to think that I'm...

How to move heavy picnic table with 1 person?

All good points, I'm sure. Question: In your opinion, where exactly should a picnic table be placed so that it meets the needs of everyone from campers with a two-person backpacking tent or hammock to those with a humongous RV? Many a time I arrive on the site and the table is located 20 feet...

Exactly what I'm doing now. Not fun anymore.

I could probably lift one end about 1 foot.

How to move heavy picnic table with 1 person?

I got the idea of a smaller dolly from this guy, who actually uses it to move picnic tables: https://weedwarrior.blog/2018/05/31/rediscovering-the-wheel/

How to move heavy picnic table with 1 person?

Correct. Maximum allowed stress on a prosthetic shoulder is about 25 lbs.

How to move heavy picnic table with 1 person?

Maybe I could add brackets to hold the table on the dolly? Campsites in the national forest are generally reasonable flat, but I do see your point.

How to move heavy picnic table with 1 person?

That's pretty much what I've been doing for a few years. I attach a cam strap around the legs and pull it. First, these table weigh at least 150 lbs and second, dragging them tears up the ground. Age, strength, and shoulder prosthesis are factors. Looking for a better way.

How to move heavy picnic table with 1 person?

    (1) Picnic tables in national forests have gotten massive---very long (extension for wheelchairs) and very heavy. (2) They're almost never in the right spot for my needs. Is there a simple wheel contraption that I could place under two legs at one end to make it easier to drag the table? I'm...

    Camp Chair Recommendations

I believe I posted in this thread some time ago but here's an update on my thoughts about chairs. I started out with a 25-year-old webbed lawn chair that probably cost $5 at the time. I graduated to a Helinox Sunset chair, which seemed good but too narrow in the waist area. Lost a lot of weight...
