Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I have noticed no change in battery performance thus far. Not saying it won't happen, but it hasn't happened yet. The battery is kept within the parameters outlined by the manufacturer. We will be aiming for highs of 70-80 while on the road, so I can keep any potential accelerated wear at bay.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

If it helps at all, my ACCC has to sit outside all day, due to my garage height. I live in Phoenix, and it was 117 a couple of days ago. Black Canopy Camper. I already have it full of everything, battery, fridge, the whole nine. I do park it under the shade of a tree, but certain parts of...

First Alu-Cab Canopy Camper on 1st gen Tacoma Xtracab*

I am right there with you. The wife and I leave normal life and are going full truck living here in 44 days. I routinely adventure with well-versed guys with GFC's, and they are all in agreement that the AluCab Canopy Camper is the better choice all around, even including the slightly higher...

First Alu-Cab Canopy Camper on 1st gen Tacoma Xtracab*

Nice work! Here's to getting it all buttoned up, in a satisfactory manner. I'm on a 3rd gen, but for the rear I went with tuned, relocated 12" shocks, custom Alcan's, and hammer hangers to tighten up the rear. It is a great setup and it all but makes the weight disappear. Rear Towers plus...

    Super Pacific/Wedge Camper Bug Nets

If you want some insight, AluCab sells, and has been selling, bug netting for its side doors and rear door for quite some time now. Their setup works about as well as I can envision bug netting working. May give you some ideas.

Position that weight closer to the front hinges (as close as you can really) and you are golden. The struts can support a variety of weights, depending on where that weight is placed on the roof.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Same question here. The wife and I are about to jump on starlink so we can work remotely out of the truck. I mainly find reviews from folks that use campgrounds/rv parks, which isn't my style. We do pretty off-grid stuff. Thank you.

    Lone Peak Overland

I'd uncross your fingers. You aren't the first person to be excited to plan a trip with your new LP camper, making that decision based on their timeline, who will ultimately be let down.

    Lone Peak Overland

I can't say I am surprised. I've been doubtful about LP since I first heard of them. Getting in on that initial low price is tempting, but these guys are bringing a camper to market that is based on a structure/frame design that is pretty subpar tbh. Not one technical, educated person on his...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Would you be willing to share a photo or two of the setup that caused the issue. Did you have the mount installed on the exterior of the back wall or something? I would be willing to bet that I could install a new rear window on my truck, without removing the camper, if I had to. I'd probably...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I can say that this is not normal. My Canopy Camper does not do this, and I use a small pressure washer (1800 psi, not one of those killer 3500 psi ones) when I wash it, and I don't notice even a drop.

    Lone Peak Overland

Big disagree here. The Lone Peak here will probably be just as flappy as a soft shell RTT. It will be interesting to see how he tries to tension that portion of the tent. But SP X1, GFC (V1 and V2), and my ACCC wedge style tents are not flappy enough, even in high wind 40+ mph, to keep you up...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

How old is it? Black powder coat? Where do you live? Parked outside? Mine is 1.5 yrs old now, doesn't fit in the garage, but I park it under a tree most days. I don't wax mine. Yet. It still looks plenty good for me. Just curious about yours.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Yes, this is exactly what I did when I wired up my brake light. They have connected the pink negative to ground somewhere (I did mine behind my drivers side taillight) in order for the brake light to function. I didn't install an extra ground for the remaining wiring that came in the ACCC, as...

Pop up/wedge camper tailgate delete option

I've poked around one Alu-Cabin in person, and its quality is just like my Canopy Camper, which is simply stellar. AluCab currently outpaces the rest of the wedge camper competition. It took me ~20 hours to fully seal my Canopy Camper to my Tacoma, but I have zero water or dust intrusion into...

Would you live in a wedge camper full time?

I am in the process of getting ready to live full-time in a wedge camper (AluCab Canopy Camper) on a DCLB Tacoma. The truck is basically done, I am just organizing some life things prior to setting off. Compared to you, I will not have to stay put in a single place due to a physical job...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Got you covered there too. Sherpa makes racks that are specific lengths based on your truck size and the camper that you have. Their Animas 36" is designed specifically for the DCLB with Canopy Camper. Before, without: _MG_4303 by Brent Prater, on Flickr Some time later, after I realized...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Contrary to what is said, you can install the Table Slide onto the Canopy Camper while the camper is mounted to your truck. It's tough to access 2 of the rivets, but it is possible with the right tools. Table Slide Installed by Michael Rickerd, on Flickr
