Opinions Solicited......Another Head Scratching Mid Size Truck Choice Thread

QC, or lack thereof, plagues them all. My JKU came from the factory with under-torqued front suspension components. Went back to the dealer for what was basically a simple fix, but certainly should not have happened.

Just be aware of rust. Rust is the death of these otherwise great vehicles. Ask me how I know. Sigh.

Oops. Sorry, man. Tell her it doesn't look so bad in real life. Who knows, she may buy it ... although, knowing you, your wife is no fool. :)

Oh ... one more picture from my 2017 trip as I hijack your thread with my glory days reminiscing ... :) At the junction of Tonto and Grandview, beginning our ascent to the Rim with an overnight dry camp on Horseshoe Mesa. My ugly mug is on the left. Personal significance to me: this marks my...

Escalante Route. Yes!!! Funny thing about Escalante Route. We were warned about navigation challenges, but I thought it easier to navigate than some actual trails. The other thing about Escalante Route: the "technical" challenges were really not that bad, except for down climbing Papago Slide...

Your photography continues to amaze. I have had the steak dinner at the canteen a couple of times. It's worthwhile for the experience; I enjoy the company and stories more than the food. Last time, 2014, iirc, we sat next to a couple, and the wife didn't want her steak ... my hiking buddy (my...

    WK2 - Trailhawk vs Laredo e

I know nothing about Grand Cherokees, but if I was to buy one, I would buy the E with QDII. No need for fancy non-functional doo-dads. Plus I would be so scared of ruining the expensive seats, I would just cover them.

No lack of people in the Canyon who shall we say are ... um ... odd characters, present company excluded ofc ,:). So, who knows. He was surprised, cold or just a jerk, or all of the above.

Two observations about your uphill jogger: 1. Trail etiquette and uphill right of way. That is to say, there is an expectation that downhill hikers are expected to allow the uphill hiker to proceed uphill. I think even park signs make note of this. Not saying you didn't show etiquette, but some...

    Best Overland Channels on YouTube

I like Brad from TrailRecon. He seems genuine to me. Andrew from 4XOverland is a fantastic presenter and a natural storyteller. Half the fun is his presentation. Also, Down2Mob is fun... although, sometimes his energy is a bit much for me. I think he posts here too. TFL is good too, although...

Lighten up Francis. This is supposed to be a fun thread. A celebration of our right in the US to own firearms, and buy whatever floats our individual boats. This is neither a pissing match, nor a morality lesson And lastly, you are not the only one here with BTDT. With that, I am back to...

Grand Canyon: Tapeats, Deer and Kanab Creeks - FAIL

Sorry that the canyon didn't work out this time for you, but sounds like you had a good time in Phoenix. Downtown Phoenix has come a long way recently, imo, with lots of new restaurants and bars and attractions. I assume your concert was at Comerica theatre. Comerica, which is not new ofc, is a...
